The Stepping Stones

I went to this pub on Saturday afternoon with my husband. I had an awful, mortifying experience. Although the waiters were incredible, i could hear the chef screaming angrily the entire time i was there, and as i looked into the the back i saw him coughing and contaminating food. I ordered a burger and it came completely raw and it tasted like plastic, with a stale bun and the cheese was rubbery. I also ordered chips that had no flavor and were simply disgusting. This is by far the most mortifying food experience i’ve ever had and the chef needs to be held accountable for this horrendous situation. It took an hour for my food to arrive and it took them 30 minutes to give me my check after i asked. The whole restaurant had an awful hostile vibe to it and there were many drunk man sitting at the bar. This restaurant will not be seeing me again, and i will be spreading the word of this dumpster fire.

The only reason for this review is with the hope that the manager will read and act on my review to help improve his offering or stop serving food .called in to this pub last night for dinner , very disappointing , we each had different menus to start with ,we both chose the pie ! When it eventually came My pastry was raw , the filling tasted suspect ,and tough ,couldn’t eat it .the vegetables were nice .staff were lovely although bewildered .bill and Lynne

I went here with my husband and kids around 2pm on Sunday and I have never been more disgusted with the quality of my food that was served. The waiters were fantastic but the main problem was the chef here. Our food came extremely late AND I look back into the kitchen and see the chef coughing into peoples food. We have a virus going around and my family and I are worried sick. I hope to see this chef fired seeing as this is a death threat.

A decent country pub, especially good after box Hill and the 3 Surrey Peak challange. A bit pricey and the beer selection could be a bit better. Very friendly staff though so swings and roundabouts!
