The Stump Cross Inn

Thankfully we only went for dinner, or at least we tried. It would seem that the Stump Cross has gone down hill since I last ate there in 2016-ish. The interior now looks very tired, there is tape sticking down carpets, it feels very sparse. All in all, it feels like a down-market Toby Carver but more expensive (and you don’t get any food, more to follow on that)! We went for a Sunday roast however it was just a bog-standard carvery. Not to worry we thought, the menu online seems to imply quite “posh” food. Absolutely amazing!!!! The staff are brilliant and so accommodating towards their guests with disabilities like myself. The food is lovely. I've been to a lot of carveries and they're always dry and taste like ready meals. This is the first carvery I've actually eaten. It's the best carvery I've been to and the other meals are amazing too. Will definitely be going back. Such a lovely warm welcome

Had the carvery yesterday there along with my friends. Thick cuts of meat. Nice selection of veg and roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings. Lovely icecream to finish off with. Mint choc lovely. Staff even opened door behind us as a very warm day. All enjoyed meal, all of us well stuffed lol

Can't comment on room as didn't stay Had Sunday carvery for 11 of us and thoroughly enjoyed. Couple of hiccups with service but staff very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Booked to go again. Food excellent and very good value for money. Service: 5 Location: 5

Regularly visit Stump for lunch with my hubby who is a wheelchair user. Staff always very polite and accommodating. Never had anything off either the main menu or specials menu , that we haven't thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommended.

last night we had a fantastic meal in the stump cross inn. eating fantastic, service fantastic. I recommend the jalfrezi steak. great service by employees called victoria mathew.

The food is absolutely beautiful Real home cooked food, we've never had a bad meal. The staff are always welcoming
