We held our staff party at the Sun yesterday, and it was just a lovely experience. The staff couldn't do enough to help us with the planning, and on the day we were so well looked after, especially by Beth. We hired the Gin Library, a beautiful, bright room with a private bar and roof terrace that's upstairs it was a perfect space for our group of just over 30 people to have a great party and celebration of our last year. The food was INCREDIBLE we were offered an extensive party menu, and everything looked and tasted delicious. They clearly take a lot of pride in their food and it pays off. On a glorious, cloudless Summer's day, my sister and I could not have found a nicer place on the entire planet to have our lunch. The Sun has a very prominent position in Carshalton, and it is named after our life-giving star for a reason... Everything about our visit was BRILLIANT!! You first see the attractive pub exterior, and then on entering you are warmly greeted by very friendly staff. There was a lovely aroma in the air coming from the kitchen, and so it was impossible not to order lunch there. Excellent food (and very reasonably priced), an impressive drinks list, and a chic French theme in the attractive decor, this pub is very special, like the Sun itself. Not to be missed!

Magnificent meals and superb service! We booked for a family meal to celebrate my mum’s 70th birthday. We were blown away by the hospitality, quality of the delicious food and the great service especially as we were a large booking ranging from 1 years old, younger children, teenagers and adults. The extra birthday touches and decorations provided were a wonderful surprise. This level of customer care makes The Sun stand out as a venue for special occasions too! We stepped into the Sun and left beaming from ear to ear! Thank you for helping make wonderful memories for our family. Such a special day.

Hadn’t been here for a while but the standards hadn’t dropped, in fact, they had been raised higher! The food and drink was impeccable, but what made the visit so special was the service we received! Isabel and Ava were both brilliant at their jobs, and made the whole experience a joy. A lot of pubs and restaurants seem to neglect good customer service these days, but this establishment, and these two girls in particular, could teach the industry a thing or two, it really makes all the difference! We have eaten here before and the food was excellent although a tad pricey. On this occasion went for a late Sunday roast lunch which was ok but not brilliant. Luke warm veg and tough stringy lamb. VERY small portions of the trio of meats. I would recommend the Greyhound and particularly the Duke's head for a far better Sunday roast. That said the pub is friendly and the staff excellent. Poor choice of ale in the higher abv range. Will go again but not for Sunday roast.

Great place Great food Great attentive staff Knew to park in car park 5 mins away as limited parking…cost only 50 pence Would request table on the side though only 2 of us as constant traffic from staff and customers passing both sides of the table as table down the middle..still we will definitely be back

My favourite place in Carshalton, I haven’t been since pre lockdown. And really fancied something nice but not travel far see I remembered the sun, from entrance of a smiley host, helping us find a table as we hadn’t booked, food was insanely amazing. Decor and staff all perfect. Can’t wait to come back!!

While the food was tasty, the portions won't fill you up if you're really hungry. The food was well presented but the small veg portions looked like they were just there as a garnish, to add colour to the plate. Reserva una mesa ahora

We had my mums 70th birthday here in the upstairs room. It was a perfect space for a mixed group with teens and tiny ones. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. I would highly recommend!

Lovely friendly staff X small fish and chips very nicely presented and very tasty X would recommend. Reasonably priced food and wine
