What an amazing little find! My wife I stayed a few miles away and decided to walk in a random direction, we found the beautiful little village of Bassenthwaite and loved everything about it, this venue being the heart of it all followed by a lovely walk back past the river and across the fields. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were able to order food at the bar. We had a fantastic meal and the atmosphere was very cozy. The staff was extremely friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant. The price per person was £70-80. We rated the food, service, and atmosphere all a 5 out of 5.

after our visit to the wild park near to the drink stopped and stopped for lunch. beautiful rustic pub, fair selection of drinks including local breweries and eating was delicious. the staff was courteous and we managed to sit even though they were busy. a good local pub cannot beat.

Just popped in for a pint. We've been before. Lovely be garden, when the sun shines. Good choice of beer friendly staff/owners and they don't charge stupid tourist prices. A little gem. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
