I stumbled upon this hidden gem while staying at the local campsite. I noticed this quaint little fish and chip shop and decided to pay a visit on our second night. They accept card payments, which was convenient, and the food was absolutely delicious. I was pleased to find out that they are also dog-friendly, which saved us from sitting outside on a chilly evening. We will definitely be returning! The staff provided friendly service and the food was fantastic. I highly recommend trying the curry and the pie for dessert.
First of all walked in to being welcomed by the keepers who made us feel welcome We had a 2 year old who was being crankie as she was getting hungry Onto the food I had a sausage supper(sausage and chips) and it was what I was expecting My husband has a chips bap which he also loved And our daughter have chicken bits and some of my chips which she loved it Thanks again for the fabulous and welcomed service
We phoned in advance to order fish and scampi and chips for a family of five. The food was prepared promptly and was ready at the expected time. The fish was coated in a light and crispy batter, while the chips were the perfect combination of soft and crispy. Despite being a 16-minute drive away, the food was still warm and delicious when we got it home.
On a self catering holiday we thought that we would try the local fish and chip shop for our dinner one evening. Our order was freshly cooked for us and was excellent. The owners were very friendly and obliging, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be going back there on our next visit.

This is now a fish and chip shop. We both had the standard fish and chips and were very disappointed. The chips were not fully cooked and were very greasy and the fish batter tasted very strange. I’m not even sure what kind of fish it was! Most of my meal went in the bin.
Called to take fish, chips and mushy peas back to the accommodation for our evening meal. Chips were dry and lovely and the fish was so good, obviously fresh. Lovely couple running the place and really friendly. Thank you. We will return.
Awful fish and chips really disappointed. Chips dry and been sat for a while, fresh fish but greasy and tasteless. We had a hankering for fish and chips after a long day and sadly these really were poor. Staff friendly.
Staying in Hawkshead as three couples, called in here Friday evening for 6 portions of Fish n Chips. Large portions all freshly cooked and served by welcoming friendly staff, we couldn't have asked for better. Thank You

I was eager to try this fish and chip shop, but despite advertising that it was open on the two nights I attempted to visit, it was closed. Very disappointing. I would not recommend relying on this place.
