The Surrey Oaks - Reserva de mesa

There are times when you have such a good meal in a restaurant that you start looking around for the small things to put into a review to make it look 'balanced '. I 'm sorry to disappoint you but in the case of the Surrey Oaks for Sunday lunch there were no small things. The 'big thing ' was the size of the portions for the main meal. I had roast lamb (done to perfection and my wife enjoyed the roast chicken. The vegetables were al dente (wonderful! and the Yorkshire pudding was vast and very eatable. An then there was the gravy. Just so rich and viscous. I could still find room for an apple and rhubarb crumble and wife enjoyed her ice creams. Total bill around £50 with no alcoholic drinks....

Out with friends and family looking for the best Sunday roast. Our first outing took us to the Surrey Oaks a traditional country pub, it was busy when we arrived and we were seated at a large table in the low ceilinged old section of the pub. The roast selection was great 3 meats on offer and a veggie roast option. As it was busy the service was a little slow but the atmosphere and company made up for the waiting time. The roast was good perhaps a little too big (tried the trio meat roast). The Yorkshire puddings were a little too crispy, but the veg selection was good. We attended the pub for lunch last Sunday, but when getting there our booking wasn't there and the pub was solid, but the pub still accommodated us ,even though there was, 6 adults, 1 child and 2 infants. They really went the extra mile to accommodate us. The food was nice but not brilliant, fish fingers were good, as were the chicken wings, and the roast was very good, but the burgers were ok, and should have come with skin on chips, and they were only normal French fries, also the haloumi fries were nice, but very little sauce. All in all a ok experience which was made much better with the service, 3 stars for food and 5 stars for service. Price was exceptional £342 with quite a few drinks

Lovely pub, unfortunately my daughter made a booking for mother's day, it was chaotic, arrived at 11h45 put in our order 2 of the party ordered starters which arrived timeously. Waited an hour for mains to arrive food was very good but the deserts arrived without cutlery and eventually had to go to bar to collect it ourselves.. Eventually left the pub at 15h15. Good pub for kids, food is nice BUT people taking orders have a clear preference for native English. I was waiting by the till but she decided to take an order by a person arriving after me....and even when I asked the reason she refused to change her mind.

Been using this lovely Surrey pub for years, hope Angus is having fun in his new adventures, always a pleasure, the location, food and drinks are all epic, try the pie, the pie is amazing , always a treat to go

We had an excellent lunch on Mothers’ Day at The Surrey Oaks with all the mothers in the family. The food was imaginative and cooked to perfection. Terrific atmosphere!
