The Swan - Reserva de mesa

Unfortunately one of the bad review I read after we booked our stay at the Swan came true! The room we stayed in, it was filthy. There were litters in the wardrobe and so much dust. Dirty floor in the bathroom and used soap under the shower! with a mold on the walls Breakfast was a big disappointment! Lots of meals had missing/ replaced ingredients. Every single dish we choose we were told that something is different, no ciabatta, no bloomer just white or brown toast. I would call it a SCAM! Lady who served in the morning lovely staff in the evening) was extremely rude especially to us. This is a pretty pub in a beautiful village which was unfortunately let down by a couple of things. We had a comfy room, the first one we were given had an awful view of a brick wall the bathroom needed a lot of tlc, marked wall the flooring was faded around the toilet and shower. The duty manager was a temp standing in for the night and was very helpful, she offered us a different room which was much better. Yet again the bathroom needed a bit of tlc to deal with the mouldy grouting around the shower again the flooring needs to be changed, faded around the toilet which looks very unpleasant, the cleaning wasn't great looked like a hurried job. Bit late reviewing but visited on a Monday in August. Good to have a pub offering decent food open on a Monday as not many are. We had dogs with us and were going to sit in the garden, which was really cute but as the sun wasn’t round there at the time we headed inside. It is really nicely done inside with lots of character really nice setting. We chose a starter to share and a main each. The food was very nice and seemed freshly cooked. Menu perhaps slightly limited but then I can be fussy with what I fancy!!!!! The only criticism is the starter of squid for £9 we felt was very small and therefore very expensive. We went on Thursday for dinner I had burger which was raw should have complained but didn’t, my husband had fish pie which was really nice he had 2pints I had 1medium wine and it was happy hour which we didn’t know went to pay cash £67.80 got home thought that was expensive then realised had 12.5 service charge. Which I wouldn’t have paid had check receipt in the pub. So won’t be going back. And you why pubs are disappearing at a rate of two a day. Reserva una mesa ahora

Our group of six walkers were all impressed by the level of service and the quality of the food. We stayed late in the bar playing cards after dinner and were never made to feel we were outstaying our welcome. Rooms were spacious very spacious clean and comfortable and the breakfast both choice and quality was superb. Our only regret is that we were only in the area walking for two days we plan to visit again next year and stay a little longer.

Over priced menu and poor quality. The side salad was in a small nut bowl and they had the cheek to charge 4.75 for 3 pieces of lettuce. The aioli with the 4 prawns was actually only shop bought mayonnaise so not as stated on the menu and they priced it at over 12 ! The smoked salmon was chewy very salty and not fresh. Even the water was warm cloudy and tasted dreadful. We won’t be going back.

Tuesday 7th November 2023 First the good. The burger was really good, the skin on fries were excellent and really crispy. Service was friendly. We chose The Swan for location and set menu online. On arrival we were told the set menu wasn’t available and didn’t start until next week. Logging on to the WiFi we got an email inviting us to try the set menu, come on guys

I had lunch with a friend at this restaurant and it was a fantastic experience. The food was delicious and the service provided by Sam was exceptional. He greeted us warmly, served our meals and drinks promptly, made sure we had everything we needed, and left a great impression. If only all restaurant staff were as good as Sam. Well done! Me, my friends family all had a wonderful evening at the Swan Inn. The food was amazing and service was excellent. A big shoutout to Marie Robbie for making sure it all went smoothly. Thank you very much
