it was easy to book a table in the swan and the menu offered a suitable choice of Sunday dinners and other dishes. it was disappointing that food allergies and intolerances are not listed on the menu and no vegan options were shown. when I asked, I got a plastic folder with a vegan menu with limited choices. not really what I would expect from a restaurant of this kaliber. the food was very good and the service was also good. Unfortunately, our table was right next to two sleeping machines that ran at full explosion, making the conversation more difficult. the couple behind us heard us complain and told us that they had already complained and no acts were taken. the machines were switched of...
Very disappointing table service, we had to go to bar.. to be told table service, then had to ask for menus, drinks, dessert menu. What should have been a celebration meal was a long drawn out process meals took time, including a half an hour wait for desserts (even though they wanted our table back by a certain time) plus those that ordered coffee dessert had finished coffee way before dessert arrived! Although I would say the staff rushed to the table on 2 occasions once to clear dessert plates even though one of our party was still eating then to bring the bill! Interesting that they automatically added a service charge, usually we are happy to pay this but given the disappointing service...
The mains were lovely, fish pie was very good, and the brisket burger also very nice, however let down by the puddings the brownie came out rock hard like it had just come from the freezer when questioned they heated it up to point it tastes burnt then, the eaten mess was just meringue in a load of cream mashed together, wasn’t worth the money the puddings sadly very disappointing. But lovely mains.
Had a family lunch at The Swan , Whittington . As always fabulous food , ambience, service etc . Keely the team Looked after us very well. Efficient , friendly professional service . It’s our go to Pub/ restaurant . Everyone should go there . Dan has done a great job overseeing the team , decor , etc . Thank you as always The Sedgley Family xxx

Fish platter was excellent. As was the garlic mushrooms and fish Goujons. Shame that the main special of lamb hot pot and the pie of the day were sold out by 17.30. But the fish pie , sausage and mash and burgers were fabulous alternatives.
Service was really slow and had to chase up our order. It was lunchtime and a business meeting but it was nearly an hour before food arrived. Waitress was a bit put out when asked if our order was ready.
Tables dirty, sticky menus. Food over cooked and poor quality. Burger looked like it had been kept over from yesterday. Extremely disappointing and would not recommend.
Was a nice evening however service was a little slow and we wanted an extra drink and had to wait a while. A bit disappointed that the pie of the day had sold out

Good food, pleasant staff, easy to chat except when a child screaming which was outside the control of staff.
The homemade burgers on Wednesdays are amazing. We’ll recommend a visit
