The hosts for our monthly dinner group this month picked The Tavern. Great choice. There were only six of us this month but everyone loved their food and the service was excellent. The Tavern was a busy place on a Saturday evening; even at 6pm. And the noise level was a bit high. We were seated at a round booth that was a bit of a tight fit but at least we were close enough together that we could hear each other. The entrees everyone ordered ranged from the Zuni Chicken Salad (my choice) to the Prime Meatloaf, the Rotisserie Pork Chop, the French Dip, the Fort Worth Cobb Salad and the Famous Pastrami Sandwich. I eat at this restaurant once a month sometimes more. I drive from Aledo and my friend who joins me constantly Mrs in from Colleyville. Very disappointed with my beak today. Ordered the special Fried Flounder (overcooked) instead if Spanish had the special asparagus ... wasn't told mashed potatoes were part if this special but they were cold so h didn't eat them. My biggest complaint if the asparagus (2 stalks with tips then 5 ends holding up the 2 stalks). What happened to the 5 tips? Meal totally misrepresented and although my best friend and I eat here quite often I will be removing it from my GO-TO eating places. The service was fabulous.
First visit. Very impressed. Definitely on our dining radar now. Manager was courteous and helpful. We had to wait a mere 3 minutes for our table. He apologized (absolutely not necessary) offered to get us drinks while we waited and hoped we had a good time. Wish I remembered the waiters name. He was great. Explained the restaurant, the menu, made some suggestions, and did an excellent job with service. Menu—just varied enough to make it interesting. But not so extensive to be overwhelming. What we ordered was excellent. And there are enough other great looking dishes to ensure our return.
NOT A KID FRIENDLY PLACE. They do not have a kids menu. Don’t sit outside because there are lots of gnats and flies. Ordered the only burger on the menu and you couldn’t substitute the chips for fries! What?!!! The chips were not great too. So I paid for something I didn’t want. Who does that these days? The burger is really good though! That’s the only reason I added the other star.

Yum! My roommates and I decided to have dinner at Tavern and it did not disappoint! I loved the atmosphere of this restaurant and enjoyed my meal just as much. I ordered the rigatoni which came with a bolognese type sauce and toasted bread. I loved this pasta, and enjoyed my nibbles off my friends' plates too. I definitely recommend Tavern and will surely be back!
For health reason, I can't eat greens. I ordered the ahi tuna salad and asked for no greens, the waitress said no problem and served it with a smile. Thus place will work with you. Always friendly and accommodating!!!

I had the farmhouse breakfast on Sunday and it was fantastic. The pork chop was like eating a ribeye. Great flavor.

Have always had a great time there. Good fish of the day choices and I also really like the steak salad.
Great food and service. The brisket tacos were great. I also had a cocktail which I very much enjoyed.
