Hidden Gem on Scotland's West Coast Dates visited: 28 June and 30 June 2022. The Tearoom in Tighnabruich is excellent in every respect. We visited on 28 June for breakfast. It was clean, comfortable and well-maintained, while the staff were friendly and welcoming. The coffee was definitely among the best we've had in any establishment in Scotland, and the breakfast rolls were tasty and well-cooked. We enjoyed our visit so much that we returned a couple of days later for lunch. The coffee was just as good as first time around, and the Haggis, Cheese and Red Onion toasties really hit the spot! The scones were very tasty as well. If I have one minor quibble, it's that the service was quite slow...
I have to question whether the responses to feedback at this Tearoom are intentionally discouraging people from providing their opinions. When we arrived in the mid-morning, we inquired about seating for a group of 7 (despite there being empty tables available). The response we received was rather abrupt, with no friendly interaction during the ordering process. There were limited options for cake selection. To make matters worse, we witnessed the next group that arrived being rudely told to either split up or find somewhere else to sit. The awkward situation prompted the people sitting next to us to vacate their table so the next group could be accommodated. Feeling uncomfortable, we decide...
We had a lovely bite to eat in The Tearoom today! Loved the bright and cosy feel of the place, the service was really friendly and there was a pleasant atmosphere. We both had the haggis toastie, which we'd both recommend (even the accompanying side salad was a delight)! Highlight for me was the hot chocolate though: it's not often a hot chocolate is noteworthy, but this one most definitely was!! The cake selection was great too, and the banana muffin we chose to round off our bite to eat was a winner. We found The Tearoom to be very reasonably priced and excellent value for money would highly recommend a visit here.
This restaurant is not customer-friendly and should be avoided. Instead, try the cafe next door. We witnessed a group being rudely turned away despite the restaurant having available seating. As soon as we entered, the owner informed us that we would have to wait at least 20 minutes for a table. While there were tables available, the owner seemed more interested in making customers wait. Despite businesses claiming they need more customers, the owner did not seem to care about customer satisfaction. This experience happened in the remote Scottish Highlands, where footfall should not have been a problem.

I traveled around North England and Scotland for a week and stopped at this restaurant for breakfast. I had to leave a review because it was the best breakfast we had all week. We both ordered the full Scottish breakfast and it was perfect. The lady who was serving and cooking was working alone and the cafe was busy, but she did an amazing job and the food was fantastic. Thank you.
We visited for breakfast whilst staying across the road at the Old Fire Station. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food... breakfast rolls for the others and waffles for me. All cooked to order and friendly service. Hoping we get to go back to try the cakes before we leave!
China cups and plates. Gorgeous baking. Everything a tearoom should be. Cakes are amazing and all hand baked by the owner. Has a Facebook page showing the days scrumptious treats! Enough to tempt anyone to visit! Reasonably priced lunch with a twist..... love it!
Was nearby touring and popped in this lovely place for breakfast. We both had a filled roll with everything in. The food was freshly prepared, brilliant coffee. Just what we wanted. The interior was tastefully decorated. Perfect experience. Thanks so much.

Had lunch in this excellent wee tearoom and enjoyed one of the best pizzas ever. Hand rolled base, fantastic selection of toppings and amazing value for money. Was too full to have anything else from the home baking but I'll be back.
Kim bakes the best scones, meringues and cakes I have ever tasted. I so look forward to our trips to the tearoom. Fantastic food well worth waiting for.
