This year our family which was a party of 19 adults went to the Terrace Hotel in Magherafelt to celebrate Christmas. My sister organised and pre booked the meals for 7pm for Thursday 28th December, as the group was large, this is a normal procedure to help the hotel or restaurant staff prepare. A few of the party cancelled that day for reasons beyond their control, but this wasn’t an issue for the hotel. On the night 3 members of our group were late by more than 40 minutes, but again this wasn’t an issue for the staff, they were very understanding and very accommodating. We stayed for two nights to attend a family get together. The Terrace provided good town centre accommodation, the rooms were relatively basic (no room safe or fridge) but for the price (which includes a full breakfast) we had no complaints. We were pleasantly surprised to find car parking at the rear. For breakfast there is a buffet with cereals and juices and then a choice of hot food – the usuals such as a full breakfast and omelettes with plenty of toast and hot drinks. It would have been good if we could have had some extras – such as black pudding – which we would have been willing to pay additionally for. We ate in on one evening. Unfriendly staff, poor management, confused bar staff, slow to serve food and drink. Need I go on? They cant even get the basics right. And then my partner got charged for someone elses bar bill. He is still trying to get this refunded and they asked him to get the strangers who we were chatting to over a drink to call them and pay their bill, and then the hotel will refund us. Jokes! Anyway as we don't know these people we were chatting to we cannot call them.The hotel management are now ignoring our emails. Very unprofessional of them. We now have to ask the Irish tourist board for assistance with getting a refund. We won't give up!
I was greeted in a very friendly way and someone got me something to eat even though officially they had stopped serving. I got a very tasty burger, coeliac needs looked after very well. A good place to go for handy, regular food, clean reasonable price and very good service.

We stayed here for 2 nights when visiting family. Rooms didn’t have any fans or A/c and the bed was too firm for our tastes. Breakfast was great, hotel bar was great and all staff we dealt with were friendly. Overall it was a positive experience!!
I love the interior and the staff are always very nice and helpful. When you need to meet for a meeting or a friend The Terrace Hotel offers privacy in a nice setting and good service. Food is nice and not very expensive. Coffees are good
I love the interior and its well planned how the seating is done. The prices for lunch or diner are very reasonable and the portions are ok. Enough parking outside at the front or the back
We ate there two evenings and had really good meals. I had their sea bass and the Sunday roast. Both excellent. The staff were friendly and hospitable. Nice atmosphere and comfortable.

Nice clean hotel, friendly staff, a great breakfast and the price was very resonable, so we were very happy and none of my family had any complaints.
