The Thai on Chapel

Last went to 'The Thai' after recommending to friends having been there and loving it before. We entered and were with extremely friendly staff and drinks to be order as we sat, beers (Singha beer on tap, very good!) came out soon after. When the food came out, every single person at the table was beyond satisfied and commented on how its up there with their best Thai food. After completely filling ourselves and having a few beers, the bill arrived and shocked us with how decent it was. For those reasons it is one my favourite places to eat and drink along chapel and will always be going back. Writing this now i am absolutely froffing a pad thai with Singha beer from the joint

Came here with a friend and got a table straight away even though it was pretty busy on a Saturday evening. The menu was tempting and traditional drinks (iced coffee with condensed milk and Thai milk tea) not listed on the menu were also available. We had fish cake and Coconut pancake for entree. Coconut pancake takes 25mins to make so it came out last. This was fitting though as this dish is actually on the sweet side. So we didn't need to order dessert. We also had papaya salad and a sour veggie curry with rice. Everything was tasty, but the coconut pancake was our least favourite.

Friendly, relaxed , urban ambience. Food is tasty, delectable and reminiscent of Thailand. For a coeliac perfect menu with lots of choice which means you can enjoying sharing dishes, as Thai is meant to be, it also signifies all their pastes are made from scratch- preservative free. It was truly tasty, definitely return in the future. Finally very inexpensive if you are on a budget.

We originally wanted to go to hawker hall however due to the wait timeWe decided to go to this place... Seems to be full of people.Was easy enough to get a table, customer service was not their strength. Menus given, prices were reasonable. You drink water out of these metal bowls. As impressive as the flavours were, were noticed high levels of salt whilst eating, even having to return one of the dishes - the waitress was very pleasant about it I should say - however I both my girlfriend, her mum and myself did not sleep that night from a clear overdose of MSG - not to mention the delirium I felt the next day :(

I would say I have a pretty high standard on thai food, having been to thailand quite a few times. We are really glad to find this thai place! great authentic thai food, definitely the most satisfying and authentic one i had in melbourne. The tom yum soup was almost like the one i had in bangkok, in a street stall.

This place is fantastic. Staff are friendly and food is great. Great selection of tasty Thai food. Very busy Friday and Saturday so may need to book. Also have take away. BYO wine as not a good selection and they only have Singha Beer to serve. Looking for a cheap eat? this is the place. Highly recommend it

This place is by far the best Thai in the area without having to break the bank. All meals are delicious, service is great and prices are low. This is not the typical trendy kind of place you will find everywhere else in Chapel. Focus on good food and traditional style. Worth to try for yourself. Reserva una mesa ahora

Weekend trip to Melbourne. Booked this place sight unseen. Great choice. Food was really good at a reasonable price. Service was great. Singha beer icy cold. Place was packed. Great atmosphere. Good night was had by all. Pay it a visit.

The staff interact and have great personality We love coming here once or twice a week. BYO also or just drink cold water out of their cute silver cups
