In a word ... fabulous!!I truly cannot remember the last time I stayed in a hotel I loved as much as The Tides Inn. The room was clean, comfortable, had amazing views, and met every need (and then some .The food was outstanding and the staff didn't miss a beat. The friendliness and genuine concern/care for the guests was obvious.The spa was AMAZING. Shelly provided a massage that was both therapeutic and relaxing. I wished I had booked more than one!!!The small details were truly appreciated (free snacks, sodas, coffee and tea in the room daily, friendly turn-down service, etc .Every single member of the team went out of their way to ensure we had the most enjoyable time. We were so excited to book a two day stay here. The resort was beautiful. Our room, in the Lancaster Building, was beautiful with a balcony overlooking the water. Our issue was that the walls of our room were so thin that we could hear every word, sneeze, cough, tv, and dog noise of our neighbor. It went until about 11:00 pm on the first day then started up again at 7:00 the next morning. I’ve never been anywhere where I could literally hear everything and every word of our neighbor. This is a 76 year old resort so just expect that there is little to no soundproofing in the rooms.. We checked out after the first day and most likely will not return. What a great place!!! We had a balcony room overlooking the water. So relaxing while having a toddy and reading a good book! We visited off season (early October) and nearly had the place to ourselves. The room was very nice. The staff was excellent!! Starting with Robert as we drove in to Frank at the bar, everyone was so helpful. We sat by the fire pit two evenings pro tip.. get the S’mores kit!! and enjoyed the fire, stars and water. Overall we enjoyed our stay the location and view are fantastic. However, service was subpar and often slow. Some wait staff were straight up rude. Additionally, some items are way overpriced $14 for room service drip coffee when you get unlimited coffee at the restaurant for $4??? Finally, our bill at check out was incorrect as someone thought they’d get away with charging $100 worth of drinks to our room and my husband had to argue with the front desk about this charge. I highly recommend the Tides Inn! Every staff we came in contact with was so friendly, our Vista Suite was very spacious with a beautiful water view, and we loved all the activities that are included with your stay. This definitely felt like a luxury resort between the complimentary snacks, water by the beach, and never having an issue getting a lounge chair and umbrella. Perfect getaway from the DMV area. Our family (2 adults, 1 teen, 1 dog) enjoyed everything about this place. We found the newly renovated “ashburn” room to be lovely great views of the water. Plus the spa was excellent, kayaks and SUPs were fun, and the pool was busy but not over crowded. We enjoyed the restaurants on site but also took advantage of the cute bikes and complimentary car rides to get into the nearby little town. Highly recommend! Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5
We use to come here and use the boat slips to dock while we ate a meal and enjoyed some beer or wine with the view. We did not mind that everything is expensive because the slip for a couple of hours was free. like most places But we will no longer be coming because the Tide Inn wants to charge 10.00 per 2 hours to dock a boat or dinghy . It’s not about the money it’s about right and wrong. If your gonna charge high prices for stuff you gotta give a little something.
We stayed on our boat at The Tides last night and had dinner at their restaurant. We can’t say enough about Pauline, the hostess, who went out of her way to seat us at a table with a perfect view of the water. Our waitress was Ruth, who also gave us excellent service.
