The Travellers Rest

The ambience upon entering the restaurant was lovely, warm, and welcoming. Our waiter, a young man in his late teens or early 20s with a top knot, was polite and helpful. We were impressed by his presentation and cleanliness, especially in light of COVID-19. Another waiter who brought our food to us was charming, upbeat, and engaging. Although my beef was cooked rarer than I would have liked (my fault for not specifying well done), the waiter was apologetic and quickly resolved the issue. The kitchen had run out of Yorkshire puddings, but this was not communicated to us when we placed our orders. The staff apologized and offered to remove the item from our bill. Despite these small mishaps, we were pleased with the attentive service and overall excellent experience. Thank you to the Team at Travellers Rest for a lovely evening.

Unfortunately after many good evenings there, Last night was mot as good. Main meals were fine, we ordered pudding absolutely cheeseboard for me.after about 15mins we were asked if we wanted desserts, we informed the young lady that we had already ordered, she came back and said there was a delay. Another 15mins passed and we were then told there is no cheese!!! Very surprised there was none, also that it took that long to tell us . Never mind.
