The Unicorn - Reservar una mesa

I was on holiday in the area and was intending to pick up a Chinese takeaway from another restaurant in the town that had good reviews, but they were so busy that they had a 90 minute wait. I found Rainbow (It's no longer called Unicorn) further down the street and it only had one other person waiting for food and only one table of dinners, so placed an order there. The restaurant itself is quite small with very large seating booths making it quite cramped, probably not the best use of space. My takeaway was prepared quickly, so I didn't have to wait too long. Visited the place mid week. On entry you are asked if you want a sit down meal or take away. I sat down. The beer was a wee bit flat. And the tables and chairs (booths), were a wee bit worn. However, the chicken curry and rice was excellent and it was a Massive portion. The staff were friendly enough, however they kept taking away dishes the second they were finished with. Which gives you the impression that they are hawk eyeing you. Just leave the dishes until all the meal is finished!! The evening was tainted a little bit when, trying to pay, they said they don’t accept credit cards. I had to go to the back, and again, the VAT receipt wasn’t what I expected. As weekend visitors to the town we checked out the reviews for takeaways, this was not our first choice but glad we went here. Tried the other Chinese in town, on Saturday at 6pm there was an hour and twenty minute wait. Tried calling on the Sunday when they opened, took 30 minutes to get answered but which time there was a 3 hour wait. Due to tthe mixed reviews we reluctantly tried the unicorn. We were very pleasantly surprised. The food was ready on time and was still hot by the time we got back to our Chalet. The food was very good and at a good price. It’s unlikely we will be passing through the town again but would not hesitate in recommending The Unicorn to anyone.

Went to this restaurant with my self and family only to be squeezed in to a corner table having ordered our meal the food came to the table the rice was stodgy and the curry was as if the fried the beef then plunked some horrible cheap nasty sauce over the top the meat was tough and untasty I had the chicken done with garlic but it had way to much garlic and the onions and other vegetables that were in the dish were almost raw as for cost I think that £47 was expensive for the muck they had served my advice do not eat there period

Bought a selection off the menu for a family get together at home and it was excellent. Hot, fresh and plentiful. Couldn't fault it at all and reasonably priced. Ordered in advance and it was ready within a few minutes of arriving to collect it, they even carried it out to the car. Really can't fault it.
