We had a dinner reservation at 8:30 in the garden. The staff was amazing as soon as we got there. The restaurant is incredibly beautiful. Our waiter, Paublo, was a charming young man who was very knowledgeable about The Vanderbilt. The food was tasty and the garden setting was lovely. The only downside was that there was a nearby table with two small dogs that barked throughout dinner. Personally, I feel that dogs should not be allowed at upscale dining establishments.
our dinner reservation kation was made for 8:30 in the garden. from the moment we arrived, the personal was amazing. the device itself is stunning. our waiter paublo) was such a wonderful young man and so full of knowing about the vanderbilt. our food was delicious and the garden atmosphere takes the breath. If I had to give one down there, a table had two smaller dogs that joined them to dinner, who decided to bark all the time. I'm not a fan of dogs eating finer.
First and foremost, the service was excellent. The staff is smart, young, ambitious kids who are experts in customer service. They should open a school. The food was excellent, the sauces where exceptional. Especially the buerre Parmesan fondue that came with the stuffies. I actually dreamt about that sauce. I’m loath to write this because I don’t want reservations to become more difficult but they deserve accolades.
The lunch menu at this restaurant was not your typical fare, with mostly salads and appetizers, along with a fish dish and a burger option. Though the small portion sizes didn't bother me, I struggled to see the value in paying $19 for a cup of soup. The restaurant was relatively empty, creating a tranquil atmosphere. this was an unusual midday menu, hard to salate and appetize with a fish course and a burger. Not that I had the little teller minded, but I did not see the worth in a small cup suppe for $19. not many were there, so it was super quiet. we had a very good and friendly service, but it didn't impress me enough to return.
Great service but very limited menu with no vegetarian entrees although they agreed to make one. Main dining room extremely dark but garden room is much better. This could be a prime dining destination in Newport but seems a work in process.
Menu was very limited with very little seafood options and it is Newport. What we had was good however for the price the portions were small and $18 for a green salad is a bit much. Service was good, Martini's were not.
