I have had a few take away meals from The Vine Spice and enjoyed them, so my wife and I treated friends to a meal at the restaurant there. Sadly and surprisingly I was extremely disappointed. One of our friend 's found that the chicken in their meal was undercooked (it was still pale pink and highlighted this to staff. It was taken away and a replacement given. The chicken in this was cooked fine, but the sauce was now much more watery and lacked flavour due to this (the other had a nice, thick creamy sauce . After looking up the reviews I decided to go to vine and spice and I was not disappointed. The service and food was second to none, I would go as far as to say that its the best Indian food I've had in the UK. Even though we hadn't booked we were offered a beautiful outside seating pod which was very comfy. I had a vegetable biryani that was a huge bowl of vegetable rice butternut squash courgette sugarshap pea cauliflower broccoli and fresh herbs covered in the naan bread baked in a tandoori oven with an exquisite curry and a bowl of raitha. Excellent meal out with friends. The food is not like the usual Indian restaurant fare. This was presented to a high standard especially the starter. The service would have five stars but the waiter was either junior and/or inexperienced and he dropped cutlery and was unclear as to what complementary drinks were being offered. Apart from this small criticism the evening was an excellent experience and we would definitely eat here again. Vegetarian options: Veggie platter starter for two was exceptional. Plenty of choice across all dishes and tastes, not your average menu at all excellent.
