Went here after walking downhill from Scarborough Castle of the hottest day in September (9/9/2023 . When we came in, the foreperson said that there may be some tables at the back that could fit us (tables and chairs on ground floor bolted down. We were barely able to fit in, so one of the members of staff, Julie, said that we could eat upstairs as the chair were able to be pulled out and would be more comfortable for us. I ordered the Large Haddock and my wife the Scampi and chips. We both agreed that these were the best of out respective meals that we've ever had. We really like it here. Visited multiple times over the years and haven't been disappointed. Our recent visits was for dinner and the following day for breakfast. The same chap served us both days who was very pleasant and attentive. I love how the place is decorated with old pictures of scarborough and its always clean here. We had fish chips, mushy peas, bread and butter and a pot of tea. It was all nice. The breakfast fry up was all nice as well with thick cut delicious toast. We will be back next year.
Always go here when we visit Scarborough. The food is great and it's reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and serve you quickly. It's always clean and tidy too. The restaurant has a pleasant and clean atmosphere, and the staff is very attentive. However, my girlfriend and I ordered a sausage and a sausage and egg sandwich, and we were disappointed with the sausage. It tasted cheap and lacked flavor, with very little meat content. Down on holiday and visiting for the day. Service was wonderful and food was delicious. Highly recommend.
