My wife and I were coming home from up north today and decided noodles for lunch would be good. Stouffville was enroute so did a search and came across Zen Hakka so bit of an accident that we patronized the place. We couldn't really read the menu on thephone screen so risked a call instead. The gentleman who answered was helpful and we got an order in, though really weren't surewhat it was we had ordered! I ordered a large vegetable hot and sour soup when I was feeling a bit unwell. First, I should mention that my favorite part of hot and sour soup is the woodear mushrooms. When I got home and opened my soup, it didn’t look like the typical hot and sour soup I was expecting. Instead, there were large pieces of broccoli and cremini mushrooms in it— and no woodear mushrooms at all. Overall, the soup was mediocre and quite disappointing.
We hosted my son's first communion celebration at The Zen, and the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Since the communion coincided with Mother's Day, we had a group of 35 people. Everyone loved the food, and the service was exceptional, even though they were quite busy. Overall, I would rate the food a 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 5.
Ate here for the third time and consistently good food. Had the dinner specials tonight x 3. Crispy ginger beef, chilli fish, and Bombay chicken, with white rice, egg fried rice and Hakka noodles. Food came quick and fresh. Good quantity for 4 people.Good pricing too. Nice clean place and never feels overcrowded. Becoming a staple for us.

Their food is good but only problem I had they charge you extra . I didn’t understand their policy. I ordered veg dumplings. My total was $12.35 after tax. Really good flavorful food and good portion sizes. We took takeout and even after a 45 min drive, the food was well and hot. Very takeout friendly! Definitely recommend.
