the most intimate pub deutschlands, located on the veritable sign of the oldest city in Germany. the externality in leather and oak brutally held, but nevertheless simply insidious. the view from the window and they can see the porta nigra and they can feel that they are at an important place of history, next to an unesco world heritage and comfortably sit in the pub next to it. juchhu, that was great. Theo is conveniently located near the Porta Nigra and has a great view of the gate. The restaurant is cozy and warm with a friendly staff. Some of them speak very good English and there are English menu's available, so travelers don't need to flex their Deutsch. The food and general fare were good: my son destroyed the chicken wings, my wife loved the Kartoffel-Brokkoli-Auflauf (Potato & broccoli au-gratin) and my daughter loved the baked potato. The curry-wurst was meh... on the plus side is that hefeweizen goes with everything.
We enjoyed our meals here one evening. I had the pork with red cabbage and mashed potatoes. It was very tasty. The servings were huge. There was easily enough food for two people and probably enough for three on this single plate. This was somewhat disappointing since I had hoped to try their apple strudel dessert. The waitress was extremely efficient as she served six or seven tables in the dining area. The food was good. The service fast and well-done. I would highly recommend this establishment.
Nice comfortable seating and very friendly staff. Thank you for kindly offering an English menu while we were obviously trying to decipher the German menu. (Learning your language is going slow, but I am trying. All four of us really enjoyed our food and drinks while in view of the Porta Nigra. If I find myself back in this area, I would return to try another one of your specials. The Tortellini is tasty and creamy without being heavy.

Not the best German food in town, but tasty and they have cold beer. One of my favorite past times is sitting here looking at the gate and drinking a cold Erdinger. Highly recommend if you are looking to rest after a walk around town. Great service and they speak English.
Very pleasant place for a meal or just a drink. Pleasant staff and good home made soup and excellent home made burger. Very convenient near to the Porta Negra.Plenty of places to eat in Trier and this is good choice.
Friendly informal spot next to the Roman gate, good for just a drink or a full meal, a few snack options too on the menu. Good schnitzel though not the cheapest in town... nice staff, terrace, good Bitburger.
The restaurant it's self was very cute. The waiters were all very nice and spoke great English. (Also had an English menu if you ask) the food wasn't anything special but was very tasty. Very nice
