I ordered the Veal Piccata, which I generally enjoy with linguini (though it’s optional). I accompanied it with creamy mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables, including cabbage, carrots, broccoli, and onions. The veal was beautifully complemented by a lemon-wine sauce, which paired wonderfully with the vegetables and potatoes. I chose a nice Riesling to accompany my hot meal, and that alone speaks volumes about the restaurant's attention to detail. The highlight of my meal was the Limoncello cake, which was as light and airy as the cappuccino I ordered to finish off this delightful experience. I highly recommend stepping away from the usual tourist traps and supporting local gems like this....
The food was excellent, but the service and atmosphere left something to be desired. Our waiter seemed disinterested; he asked if we wanted him to bring us bread but never followed through. His wording was also off-putting, with questions like "Do you want me to bring you bread?" instead of a more inviting "Would you like some bread?" At the end of the meal, he asked us, "Are you done?" which felt abrupt. We had to request silverware and other items ourselves. If it weren't for another waitress passing by a few times, we would have missed out on drink refills. After we received our check, we waited quite a while for it to be picked up. It was a busy night, being the Saturday before New Year'...
We had a wonderful experience at TJ’s! The staff was extraordinary, especially our waitress Becky!! Felt like our dining experience was top priority. We got the fried cheese ravioli and garlic bread to start (along with house bread that was heavenly . For mains we had chicken parm and seafood medley. We ended the night very happy and full, but took a slice of limoncello cake and chef’s red velvet cake home and enjoy immensely a little later. I normally don’t write reviews of restaurants, but since we also rely on reviews when looking for amazing new places while in vacation, I felt inclined to write this review. Highly recommend :
Let’s play a game… what’s missing from this picture? A fantastic location. Classic-style decor. The food was decent. However, none of us received what we ordered. We ended up eating it anyway because our server was rushed as soon as we sat down, and it turned into a bit of a chaotic experience. The salad arrived right away, but the utensils took 30 minutes to get to the table. The Prosecco finally arrived after the second bottle of San Pellegrino was delivered. Been here a few times and always had great food and service. Last night was more of a miss. Ordered spaghetti and meat sauce, was brought spaghetti and meatballs. Waitress took it back to fix it, but they just took off the meatballs (left all the sauce) and then added the meat sauce, which meant we had nothing but sauce and very little noodles. Waitress didn’t seem to understand why double sauce was an issue. Kinda shocked the chef wouldn’t have just re-prepared the dish as we ordered it. Bread was great and ravioli appetizer was great.
The food was fantastic, and the menu was extensive! We definitely want to return to sample more dishes. Our family enjoyed the stuffed grouper, the meatball parmesan sandwich, and the fettuccine Alfredo. Everything was delicious! Our server was incredibly friendly, amusing, and attentive too!
