it was for Sunday dinner for a group of friends. the venue was very busy a good sign, as popularity usually corresponds to returning customers. we ordered drinks. I wanted carbonated mineral water, but still had to settle, as there were no carbonates. all 7 of the party had the carvery and a pudding. the waiting queue at the carvery was long, but very fast moving. the food was good. I was with some toby carveries, but that was equally high for the quality of the food together with one in sunderland. the waitress was efficient and fast, without too short, although it was so busy. puddings arrived quite fast and were delicious (one of the party wanted the skyberry sorbet, but it was not availa...
laura new' was very friendly. the chefs were very helpful and welcoming. a little more space in the leisure area would be good as there is a squeeze if there is more than one person. there is a great selection of veg. the maid got only a small disc that was not enough for my five-year-old, and so she had all mine. a small fizzy drink option would be good for a child. she drinks less than half a business, but it was £3,35, which is very bad and it encourages us to try to get our money worth. the bratkartoffeln in the drip are amazing. the flesh is beautiful and delicate.

Great place for lunch albeit rather busy. School holidays didn't help the feeling of chaos but I guess its nice to be in demand rather than contracting. The staff unfortunately seemed to be wilting under the heat both outdoors and in. Whilst food was great somewhat uncomfortable eating indoors and outdoors is near a busy road. If you come here when there is no heatwave I'm sure you will be fine.

Definately one of the better Toby's. Really cosy inn feel with plenty of outdoor seating. Good selection of meats as always and lovely selection of vegetables. My one issue is that they have far too many halogen lights in here which coupled with low ceilings and the large carvery area just makes this a bit uncomfortable during the current heatwave.
Our party of four booked specifically so i could try the yorkshire pudding wrap. Quite disappointed. Wrap served with three roast potatoes and a small jar of gravy. No vegetables. Wish i had gone for the carvery instead. Service was also disappointing. Gentleman at next table began playing music on his mobile telephone very loudly.
Despite being understaffed and not offering giant Yorkshire puddings, we had a very enjoyable meal that was made even more special by the attentive service of two young male waiters, Rob and Luka. These boys were so friendly and provided great service, making us feel truly valued as customers.
When arrived had no reference to our booking and were extremely busy so we couldn’t get a taxable. Waste of our time as we then had to find another venue to eat in. Which made our meal later and more expensive. Even though we had email confirmation would not give us a table.
