My partner and I got in line on a Saturday night at 10:30 and waited probably 45 minutes to get in. We could hear the music from the stairs outside and knew it was worth the wait. The two item minimum is a fair and reasonable price no matter where you go, but especially in Manhattan. We were first seated at the only spots available when we walked in, two spots at the bar, behind a wall. But after walking through the rain and waiting in line, we didn't mind. I considered asking our server if we could move when other chairs opened up, but he beat me to the punch and moved us right next to the music. My partner tried 3 different sakes and enjoyed them all, and I was a big fan of the lemon drops...
Every time I come here I wait at least an hour, the most being 2.5 hours outside in a line because this place is tinyyy. There’s only a dozen seats or so, and the whole time you feel like you’re about to crash into people, knock something over, and rubbing shoulders with complete strangers sitting next to you. Why the hype and good reviews then? The food is delicious, the service is true Japanese hospitality despite the madness, and the ambiance with the homey decor and live band can’t be beat. Rather than the manufactured, touristy vibe that NYC can sometimes feel like, this feels like a true local paradise.
This bar has a great atmosphere. It can be a bit tight and noisy, especially if you're sitting close to the jazz group, but it has a nice vibe. The food was decent - the croquette was tasty, the chicken wings were not to my liking (dry and overcooked), the cod roe spaghetti was average with a lack of flavor, and the fried rice was good but could use more seasoning. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. We waited for an hour outside at 6 o'clock, so I recommend going when they open or be prepared to wait.
Overall, my experience at this restaurant was good. The live jazz music was cool, although be prepared for a wait of 1-2 hours. The service was a bit slow, but the food was delicious. I recommend trying the avocado spaghetti. My companion's kabeljau was good, but I've had better elsewhere.

This restaurant is excellent and consistent. I've tried every dish here and they are all delicious, especially the Hamburg steak and Omu Rice. The omelette was fluffy and creamy, even after being reheated. The Hamburg steak was tender and not overly heavy.
I gotta say this first, the waiting was too long, but it was worth to waiting their music and even the foods..I was here two times, and the music was perfect same as usually. You have to try demi glace omurice and okonomiyaki, they are insane..
What an awesome little spot! Loved visiting this little gem of a jazz club. The vibe was very sexy, the cocktails were well made, and the jazz was top notch.Definitely get there earlier to avoid the line (I waited for 1.5 hours).
This small and cozy restaurant had a great atmosphere and live music. The food and drinks I ordered were fine, although there may have been better options on the menu. I recommend coming here specifically for the music.

my favorite spokesman. very nice cocktails at a reasonable price. the food is served freshly. many Japanese dishes. waiting is always long so expect to wait. very cozy atmosphere.
Great place for a midday meal that won't break the bank! The food is tasty and well worth the price.
