For many years Toscana and Next Door (their wine and tapas bar that shares the space) have been a favorite of my girlfriend and I. We make it a point to come here a couple of times every summer while she is here from studying abroad. The food is some of the best in all of Calgary. If you are looking for a genuine Italian restaurant in Calgary, Toscana Italian Grill is it, from the menu to the great food. We ate dinner there twice in four days in Calgary as it was so good. The first time I had lobster and crab ravioli in a rose sauce. My wife had spaghetti with their homemade sauce and our granddaughter ate fettuccini alfredo. Everyone's food was delicious. Prices were in the $12 to $19 range, although other choices were more expensive. They also served pizza and even a lamb burger. The second time I ordered gnocchi in a roasted red pepper rose sauce. We were a group of 3 for dinner. We shared the Italian Platter appetizer and quite enjoyed it. Each of our choices for a main dish were excellent. The dessert and espresso were also very good. The service was attentive and effective. We had the opportunity to meet the owner. There was a complimentary house special limoncello at the end of the meal. The wine list included a very good (92 point) Chianti Classico for a reasonable price. This was the first visit here for all of us and we will definitely add it to our list of restaurants worth a return visit.
I hate to be a debbie downer but there was nothing remarkable about the food we ordered. The pasta is not homemade while the sauces are--so pricey for packaged pasta with sauce. I really did not enjoy my tortellini. The veal picata was a smallish portion size. The beet salad was tasty as were the risotto balls. Ordered gelato for dessert and was not served the correct flavor--but ate it without saying anything. Service was exceptional tho--very attentive!

We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant! A friend and I wanted to go for Italian food and found this gem online. We had bruschetta to start and then we decided to split 2 main courses: beet risotto and parma funghi pizza. Everything was flavorful and delicious. The restaurant was busy and had a great atmosphere. Can't rave enough about this place, we will definitely be going back!
We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident and were very glad we did! We had a delicious Marguerita pizza with prosciutto and homemade CaesarSalad. Everything that came out of the kitchen and went past us looked amazing as well! A very pleasant surprise, and with the amazing menu, friendly staff and very quick service, this is definitely a place to go back to!
Stopped in for a lunch today at a traditionally great Italian restaurant. We were not disappointed. Steak bites and lobster ravioli were top notch. Service was excellent as always. You really can't find a better menu in town. Nice patio as well.

I loved the pizza, very tastyThe wife and I wanted to try something different as far as a pizza place is concerned.
Ordered the seafood risotto and calamari which was delicious and was prepared in a timely manner.
