Trattoria Antipasto

We were three on Wednesday at the end of June, looking for lunch before we visit the gardens, and by chance came after a meandering 15-minute walk from the Central Station on Antipasto. The terrace was small, quiet, framed by stuffed olive trees. Two of us went for Entrées from the regular menu with the beautiful rosemary apples – the proteins were a pollen all Griglia and a Bistecca argentina. The best dish but was one of the daily specialties, a risotto with lemon and ginger. The staff was friendly and prompt, at home in German, Italian and English.

Owner seemed to tell us what we should eat and drink. Quite capable of taking a reasoned decision but rushed into decisions needlessly. Food all seems to come on a bed of rocket. Also helpful in disguising some of the small amounts of the more expensive ingredients. The bills in Germany include service by law I think. In this place an extra tip was demanded but not paid. Won't go back. It's not what eating out should be. Sorry owner.

During my stay in Baden-Württemberg area I tried restaurants with highest evaluations, and this one is definitely my favorite. Location is really nice and characteristic, menu is various and interesting, staff kind. It's better to book, in particular during the week-end, because if you are in a group you may wait a long time or don't find a place (as it happened to us one night). Highly recommended.

Our favorite Italian restaurant in town, we ordered grilled baby squids with salad, linguine with fresh seafoods home-made gnocchi with fresh porcini in white wine sauce!!

Perfect food and great atmosphere! You must be absolutely perfect there to take your lunch or dinner.
