we had a reservation and arrived on time. we were shown to a small table that relied on a living table of four other diners. we asked to sit at another place, as there was a series of sensible empty tables. after a lot...testing and convincing we were actually allowed to sit somewhere else. the starters arrived immediately and were in order. we had to clear our own starter plates out of the way when the main courses arrived. they were barely warm as they were obviously left standing in the kitchen. my spaghetti for example was quite controversial and solid. we decided to get out of desserts, but my double espresso that was made remained on the counter for an old one. so much, the barmann vol...

we enjoyed an excellent dinner in trattoria gio when we visited Montreal! we had not made reservations on a very busy Saturday night, but fortunately secured a table on the terrace. the service was great, our meals were excellent, and we had luck enough to hear an impromptu performance of a fabulous cellist who was mentally great in the plaza right next to the restaurant! it was a wonderful evening. many thanks to this great fund of a restaurant!

we ate a casual dinner Saturday evening in trattoria gio. it was pleasant, good Italian and good pizza. If you could get a table outside, it could be nice. inside was very beautifully decorated. we were a little early for our 8:30 clock table, so we enjoyed a drink at the small bar in the inner and chatted with the very personable barkeeper. waiting the personal was professional.

the salty location along the plaza offers a beautiful variety of pastas, pizza and wine. the eating was very good and the service staff was warm and welcoming.

One of the usually bustling Italian restaurants with some standard authentic Italian dishes...good food, moderately priced great ambiance...try outdoor seating
