Travail never ceases to amaze me. Their attention to detail is impeccable. I’ve been there twice and both times I have not been even somewhat disappointed.The first time we went for a French bistro inspired 8-10 course meal. This was before the pandemic so it was a long while ago.This last time was Friday and we went to Buddies Bar. Friends is by far one of my favorite shows so when I saw that I just had to make reservations. I am reluctant to leave a negative review, especially given a fantastic experience I had at Travail two years ago. However, my recent visit for the GIGLIO tasting menu was underwhelming. Out of the 22 dishes served, none stood out as exceptionally delicious. The only memorable dish was the Basil Pesto Gnocchi, which was unfortunately memorable for the wrong reasons—it tasted like undercooked dough. The overall taste of the menu was marred by an excessive use of salt, making it difficult to enjoy the flavors intended.The inconsistency in dish preparation was evident. This culinary experience will be extremely hard to beat.Every level of detail is carefully considered in the food, service, and ambiance. The customer service was incredible and they were able to take care of our 20+ member party without skipping a beat! At the end, we were able to see how they celebrated one of their managers leaving for another opportunity.Seeing how they handle their staff with the same respect and care as they do with their customers, this would be such an awesome place to work at.Food was 10/10 and was just the right amount. Don’t walk, run! Definitely recommend!!
This was our first experience at Travail. We went for the Friends Buddy Bar experience. Overall the experience was fun. It reminded me a lot of a Disney experience. The food was fine, but I could tell the struggle was real to make it Friends themed. Yes it they did have Trifle, and no meat was in it. The steak with a ketchup sauce really killed it for me though. While the “show” was great the food lacked. Medium temp at best. I will say that executing this had to be a challenge. The wine pairing was dead on spot as was the bar staff! Edited bc one of their amazing employee reached out. Overall if you are a friends fanatic go and enjoy this experience!
