We ate here twice while staying in Mawnan Smith as far nicer than our hotel. It is a proper country pub, plenty of atmosphere, exceptionally friendly staff and a fantastic well priced menu of freshly cooked local ingredients. We had the roast on Sunday which came with such a good selection of vegetables not overcooked, the meat my husband had was tender and flavoursome, I had the nut roast which again was full of flavour and texture. On our 2nd visit I had the pumpkin soup, husband had pigeon breast starter which he'd never had before and enjoyed, I then had sole which was 3 fillets cooked perfectly and my husband had the squid ink pasta. I had a wonderful experience at this charming pub! My family and I stayed in the vines apartment for 2 nights with our 3 young daughters. The apartment was clean, well-equipped, and very comfortable, making it perfect for our small family. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts both mornings, and one evening we had a fantastic meal of local mussels and steak. The staff were all friendly and made us feel right at home, even with our young children. Overall, it was a great experience with delicious food and wonderful people.
This place is amazing! A great place to stay at with brilliant gardens to explore. The food was good quality and the staff were all helpful and friendly. It’s close to loads of beaches along the river so there is always something to do. It’s also dog friendly! And, if you decide you want to go somewhere without your furry friend, you can book them in to doggy daycare! I can’t recommend Trengilly Wartha enough! Will definitely be back soon. Very quaint setting up some very narrow lanes. Lovely staff and nice options of local cider produce. There’s a bar menu a more extravagant menu. Our table ate from both menus. Very accommodating for children. The food was fresh, hot and lovely. If you’re looking for food, atmosphere and something a bit different it’s definitely worth a visit.

Very warm and friendly place to stay. The restaurant offers lovely food and wide range of beers, wines and spirits. We stayed two nights, we’re looked after we’ll and I recommend the breakfast-wonderful. Set in idiotic setting, with easy reach to Falmouth and the Lizard peninsula. Will go back again.
We had a great two-night stay at this restaurant. The food was excellent and Elise was very helpful in recommending local places to visit. The bed was comfortable, the wifi was good, and parking was easy. The restaurant is dog-friendly and beautifully decorated. The power shower was a nice touch.
We waited for 55 mins for our food. Had we been told there was a delay, that would not have been a problem. Customer service poor. We weren’t asked if our food was ok. Menu extremely limited and everything came with triple cooked chips. Overall very disappointing. Such a shame.
Owners staff excellent, food very good and plenty, lovely and clean, tea coffee in room. Couldn’t ask for much more for a wonderful stay in Cornwall. Just ignore sat nav as it takes you a very narrow back road, ring for a more precise route.

Everything you could ask of a great pub friendly staff, really good food, great beer, relaxing atmosphere both inside and out plus good service, and the feel of a local, slightly quirky pub! And away from the touristy areas.
The service and food are first class, an amazing choice on the menu. I had a Thai fusion duck salad and red curry and would recommend it
