Tres Palmeiras - Reserva de mesa

We noticed Tres Palmeiras when we were looking for our guest house. There were many people waiting we noticed billowing smoke coming from the BBQ. After we checked in, we went to have a nosey around 230pm. Had thought it was BBQ chicken they were serving but turned out to be fish. We had a look at the menu where there were different seafood dishes from about 10€. The restaurant was quite quiet then the BBQ pit didn't seem to be smoking so we went back another day. Read the TripAdvisor reviews in the meantime and it seemed customers are just asked for drinks orders and are served mixed fish with sides and the meal ends with fruit. All sounded very random cool and we were looking forward to it...

So you walk into a restaurant that’s full of locals, that doesn’t take bookings because it doesn’t have to, serves you fish that’s so fresh that if it was any fresher you’d have hit it on the head before you ate it and serves you a litre of house white wine thrown in for a rock bottom price. You won’t be surprised that this place is full. Neither were we. after reading the making food We are in Tavira and staying at a friend’s apartment. She’s said there are loads of great restaurants here but this one was the best and how right she was. Superb food, lovely people …no wonder people are queuing out the door. Visited many times over the years. Never disappoints provided you understand the nature of the experience. The choice is very limited, basically mixed fish with boiled potatoes and a large crouton with tomato sauce, salad, and olives. It's largely assumed this will be your order and will be brought to the table without asking. There is a small but decent drinks menu. They don't offer meat vegetarian or a vegetarian alternative. The restaurant can be very busy , hectic even. But the atmosphere is joyous. It won't be collecting any Michelin stars, but the food is fresh and very tasty and the ambiance fabulous. Enjoy!

Food is served at 12 and 7 (check as evenings are dependent on time of year). Go at 11 or 6 and put your name on the blackboard. Be back in good time for the start and your name will be called. Too late and your name is scrubbed. Simple. After that, unless you say different, you get a mixture of fish, potatoes, salad, bread, olives and can order drinks (house red v nice). Then eat. The price is ridiculous for what you get and the taste is simple but excellent. Do it. Reserva una mesa ahora

Great for fish lover s to eat not vegans) traditional grilled BBQ) fish, at reasonable/ cheap prices. Locals not many tourists, and be prepared to queue if not early. Fact locals queue, is sign how it is valued. It's proper food not looks pretty tastes bad, it tastes great, but if you can't use your fingers be happy to spend twice as much for material table cloth, cover charge and pricey wine.

Cycled past this restaurant, my better half loves fish, so we stopped, its very basic and rustic, that's not a problem, there was a large number of people waiting to get in.. The food was fine for my better half, but I struggle with bones. The portions were generous and I did enjoy what I had.. Staff very friendly and the food is really freshly cooked. Excellent value

We’ve been coming to Tavira since 2017 but have never been by Três Palmeiras when it was open until today! What a great meal! 4 perfectly grilled fish, grilled bread, potatoes, salad, olives and fresh bread. We were offered fruit and coffee for dessert, but declined so much food! I was doing a happy dance the whole time I was eating the fish it was incredible!

Burnt fish, zero quality, sardines that look like they are frozen with cold and poor portion of potatoes, the salad was dried the bread had no sauce, the staff members were very rude, no organisation what so ever, this restaurant in a year changed allot since last year, definitely not coming back and I advice no one to come. Only stopped because we saw a que and wondered why. We sat down (dog was welcome) and had no idea what we were in for. The food started to come (must have been a set menu) we only ordered drinks . Salad, potatoes, bread, olives and toasted bread with delicious sauce, then 5 whole bbq fish!! Delicious

Returned after meaning to go back for years , not disappointed set menu for €10 as described in previous reviews. Not for those who like their fish filleted . Authentic experience
