I cannot begin to tell you what a let down this restaurant is. Considering its location, you’d think they would do better. We popped in for a quick lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. The food was less hit and more miss. We ordered the lasagne which was actually okay, a couple of pizzas (one gluten free) calamari and garlic bread. Firstly, you cannot call what was given to us pizza as it’s a lie. The only similarities in what a pizza is and what we were served was the shape. If you want decent pizza, go to Cresci or Spaghetti Junction which is across the road. No charring on the pizza, no cornicione with crunchy edge on the outside and light and soft on the inside. As someone that lives locally and has been in here hundreds of times I won 't be returning, we came in for ice cream with my son and partner,there was a rather loud violin duo playing and I moved across the ice cream counter to see what other flavours they were as I have problems with my right eye and my sights a little restricted,only to be told rather rudely by a certain waitress, can you move out of the way of the music ,I was trying to purchase ice cream and was there a matter of seconds! what 's the point of having a band right in front of the ice cream servery?! Just been today to try it for the 1st time. The spaghetti with mussels was very tasty and cooked well. Good wine. Unfortunately the service wasn't great. Although friendly, they just didn't seem to notice I was there despite me being at the table closest to the bar where the staff all congregate. I would have had another drink and perhaps a dessert but neither was offered to me. Had to flag staff down to ask for the bill and had to get up and approach the bar to ask to pay despite there being at least 4 staff within 3 metres of me. Just felt like a burden by the end. Maybe because I was a lone diner so less important? Not sure really. Left hurriedly without leaving a tip which is unheard of...

Outstanding. We started with the arancini with mozzarella and prosciutto crisp outside, soft flavorful inside with a lovely center of creamy cheese and ham. Best I've ever had. We followed it with an amazing pizza (pictured). A perfectly baked crust, a bold, tasty, fresh tomato sauce, and an incredible combination of toppings. That is ricotta, Sicilian sausage, sundried tomatoes, and ground pistachio (which I never thought to put on pizza). It was spectacular. Service was friendly, helpful, and attentive.

We had lunch at Trinacria on Sunday, sat outside alfresco with our dog. The food was exceptionally good. I had the seafood spaghetti (from the specials) and it was spot on. The Galetto was also very good. We spent a leisurely lunch and we weren’t rushed by the staff at all. There is a small area inside the restaurant (by the window on high seats) that is a dog friendly for when the weather isn’t accommodating. Highly recommended.

Absolutely delicious food, cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. My wife and I cook well and love eating out. This lovely restaurant has to be one of the best authentic Italian restaurants we have had the pleasure of visiting. The Gelato ice cream is also very delicious and made on-site. Pure delicious Italian cuisine, at its best and very well priced.

Our first night in York we decided to celebrate with a local meal in town. We arrived with no booking thinking Tuesday would be safe but the place was buzzing, thankfully a spot was made for us. Our orders were taken swiftly and the food was absolutely devine, if I had a second stomach I'd order exactly the same thing again. Great start to our weekend away

The food here was nice, but service was very slow. Took 15 minutes to attract someone's attention to order and another 30 minutes for the food. Far too long for hungry kids to wait. Definitely felt ignored by the staff. I wouldn't go again.

Delicious food we ordered a pizza, soup of the day (minestrone), arancino, tiramisu, and gelato. All were delicious, great value and tastes authentic. Great service, casual place. Highly recommend

Only tried the Tiramisu so far but what I do know is I cannot look at the mass produced, shop bought version again. This one is absolutely beautiful and cannot wait to try more items from here.
