I feel so bad writing this review, but I just have to be honest. The food was HORRIBLE.....my food was soaked with what was supposed to be STEW peas gravy. Eukkkk.....I ordered stew peas with white rice, the stew peas had turkey neck and beef. Not a huge fan of turkey neck, but the beef made me say ok. That was not stew peas, it was more like BROWN stew peas, the rice was clumps of mush, might as well had rice pudding, but I caught that as he was sharing the rice, he was picking up clumps of rice balls...??. But I should have known there was a problem when my Jamaican chef had a GUYANESE accent..??, and commence to tell me he was a honorary Jamaican because he is married to one...?. I feel r...
This was some of the best food I've ever tasted. While I was working in the area, I was looking for a good place for a hot lunch. The jerk chicken is outstanding—definitely the best I've ever had. I paired it with rice, beans, and cabbage, which were also delicious. The cabbage was refreshing and crunchy. They offer small, medium, and large platters, and the medium size is quite generous—I couldn't even finish half of it! But that just means I have leftovers to enjoy later. I highly recommend this place!
The food at this restaurant is AMAZING. I usually get the large oxtail platter and the large jerk chicken platter, and both come in generous portions. The meat is tender and flavorful, easily coming off the bone! The rice and peas are also delicious and packed with flavor. There tends to be a line during lunch, but the food is ready within 10-15 minutes. Jr is very friendly, and I really feel like I’m supporting a family-run business. The prices are reasonable for the quality of their meat and dishes.
Food is very Delicious had a large oxtail with Rice and Peas and a med J Pork with Rice and Peas. I was well seasoned. Will be stop by next time I am back in the Area. Had a Ting it was really cold and refreshing goes well with my meal.
