When I asked when the food had been prepared, she bluntly said, "We cooked the food two days ago." To make matters worse, she refused to give me part of my order or issue a refund and essentially ignored me afterwards. The other staff members seemed intimidated by her, likely due to her close relationship with the owner.

The girl who answered the phone and managed the register seemed either disengaged or consistently unfriendly. It felt like they prioritized takeout customers over the rest of the nearly empty restaurant. I witnessed her come out from the kitchen just to tell two customers they couldn't sit at a specific table. On top of that, even though I had placed my order in advance, I had to wait 40 minutes for my food. Experiences like this make some people hesitant to support Black-owned businesses, as it can feel like we're seen more as a burden than as valued customers. I won’t be returning to this place!
The restaurant should have enough seating for customers who are waiting. I was informed that I couldn't sit in the dining chairs, and there were no available waiting seats. The female owner told me I had to wait until a seat opened up. I politely requested a refund of my $30.
I would give this restaurant zero stars if I could. I found a dead, cooked fly in my cabbage as soon as I opened the container! On top of that, the woman at the window was incredibly rude.

The jerk catfish and, of course, the chicken are fantastic! I drove all the way from Wisconsin just to enjoy them. The staff are also incredibly friendly.
