True Food Kitchen Kansas City

McKenzie, our server, was so good about my unfortunate diet restrictions and making sure I didn't get anything that could make me ill. That's really important, and one of the reasons we booked TFK was because of all the alternative choices on the menu. We had plenty of uninterrupted time to chat with our out-of-town guest who came to meet us just for dinner. The only negative was ambient sound: somebody messing with the volume on the music, which went up and down, really loud and not loud, and that we were sitting in a booth that has an overhead that acts a bit like a dome and we could hear, loud and clear, the entire conversation a booth two tables down was having. Whenever I visit from St. Louis, True Foods Kitchen is always a top spot for me because we don't have one back home. The food was great, but the service was just okay. The server was very nice, but she messed up our order. It felt like I was in China because we received our appetizer last, and she got my salad wrong and still charged me for it. Other than that, everything else was good.

Very good food, we sat at the bar and the service was great. I had the trout and my husband had the burger and Mac and cheese. A very convenient location as we enjoy the plaza and it is right around Ward Parkway. Very good evening.

I brought my daughter-in-law to this restaurant for her birthday. I tried the vegan double cheeseburger and it was fantastic. There was a small issue with our dessert order, but overall it was a positive experience.

The restaurant had no air conditioning and the service was slow and rude. We have visited three times and two of our experiences were negative. All three visits were without air conditioning.

Our server was very timely and available. The food was delicious as always. Thank you for being so patient with us as our children were pretty tired when we arrived.

Kitchen I guess was backed up. New server. So slow. Didn’t know menu. Food was not good. Total bummer.
