Tucanes - Reserva de mesa

I recently visited Tucanes with high hopes, as my husband is Costa Rican and we were craving authentic cuisine. Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. To start, the food was clearly not fresh. The chicharrón was burnt and dark, indicating it was overcooked. When I mentioned this to one of the managers, she immediately agreed just by looking at it and brought us a new batch. Despite this effort, the replacement wasn’t much better. Additionally, the waitress was not very attentive, which only added to our frustration. I just returned from Costa Rica! Three days later I ran to Tucanes for Costa Rican food! They do not disappoint! Delicious, fresh, authentic and beautifully presented is exactly how to describe my meal! In addition to scrumptious food, TucanesHas a lovely, pristine atmosphere with excellent service. Restrooms are immaculate! I love this place. I went back a week later for another wonderful experience! I am now a regular!

The decor at this morsel of Costa Rican culture is aesthetically pleasing and if you’re in the area, this is one of the better Tico spots. We watched Costa Rica beat Paraguay in a Copa America game while eating pupusas, un Casado and Tacos Ticos and totally hit the spot. Especially since they served some salsa Lizano on the side.

Excellent chicharron de pollo and empanadas! The staff is very pleasant. Food is always good and hot and you can order delivery.
