"Very tasty foods and different menus. If you appreciate your privacy it is not the right place for you as the tables are very close to one another. No parking places available so it is better to park in some garage and walk to the restaurant."

Americans visiting Mannheim but staying in an area of Mannheim where many people from Turkey or of Turkish descent live. Happens we love food prepared in a more traditional German style but also love food prepared as those acquainted with Turkish food preparation and those traditional ingredients. Happens tonight’s meal at Turk Sofrasi was a recommendation given by the evening consierge of Mercure Hotel her personal favorite for Turkish style food. We both found Turk Sofrasi tonight an absolutely exceptional experience. Our waiter walked us through the menu, made a couple of recommendations for dishes we might enjoy. The meals hit all the marks for beautifully balanced, beautiful presentatio...

For the sake of understandibility, I will write an English comment as a Turkish person. Today I was in this restaurant. First of all, nothing special there. All of the restaurants in Marktplatz are more or less the same. However, this restaurant does not accept credit cards! The only payment method is cash, which I certainly did not like. Secondly, there is no tea service on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (The waiter said this). This is unacceptable in Turkish culture. A restaurant must serve free tea for every customer. And this restaurant even does not have a tea service. That's why I strictly do not recommend this restaurant. Instead, you can try the lale restaurant on left. They don't have...

As far as Turkish food goes, it is as close as it can be that one can find in Germany. But, I can't call it genuine. I ordered ciğer and adana kebab as well as lahmacun. Both ciğer and adana was below average. Ciğer supposed to be cut smaller and traditionally they both served with flatbread instead of rice. Surprisingly, lahmacun was great. I can safely call it best lahmacun I've ever had in Germany. Their ayran is also freshly made and tastes great. The service was nice. Waiters are quite talkative, it's up to person whether it's a good thing or not. Atmosphere there makes you feel like you are in Turkey.

Highly recommend, especially number 85 on menu for meat lover (mixed between chopped and grounded lamb meat kebab) I'm surprised because the meat was marinated so close to the way Vietnamese people marinate charcoal grilled meat (only that we use pork and lemongrass) One of the best charcoal grilled meat I ever had after 1 year in Germany! The professional here know what to do with their meat and charcoal grill!
