We stopped by this restaurant in Wells for lunch as it was the only option open in the afternoon. As vegetarians, we decided to try the mushroom burgers, which turned out to be simply a large mushroom with salad in a bun. While the bun was nice, it was not exactly what we were expecting in terms of a burger. The food was average, and the restaurant itself was not very clean. The staff were not particularly welcoming, as they mainly spoke to each other and did not inquire about our meal. Overall, the service, atmosphere, and food quality were all rated a 3 out of 5. What a shame. This place has gone down hill. Must have changed hands! The service was very lack lustre the waitress was totally disinterested. The menu was small uninspiring. We had booked a table beforehand having asked for a specific table which was not available to us when we arrived, so we had to eat upstairs. Out of the way mostly forgotten. Won't be going back. A real shame as this used to be a great place. My girlfriend and I went to this restaurant for breakfast and we both loved it. The full English breakfast was excellent, the coffee was amazing, and Alex is a talented barista. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy a nice cup of coffee near the cathedral. The service was great, the atmosphere was lovely, and I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all a 5 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the English Breakfast. Price per person was between £10-20.

Disappointed considering other reviews. Lime/lemon/coconut cake was a tad undercooked so unpleasant to eat.. Elderflower drink was served with a chipped glass, replaced by a hot one dripping with water from the dishwasher. Staff seemed rather glum. Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Full staff members, never see so slow service .. we had to wait 45 min for two coffeesvery disappointed . Last year was 2 ladies working and we had served immediately.
