We visited Two Tannery years ago, probably before I began writing on Tripadvisor. A recent visit to Vermont with family gave us an opportunity to return. This is a terrific restaurant with excellent food and a wonderful, eighteenth century atmosphere. It would be worth a visit even if the food wasn't first rate: the building is rich with history and the decor drips with tradition and authenticity. But the food is first rate. The Smoked Salmon appetizer was delicious in a surprising citrus vinaigrette, and the Scallops wrapped in Prosciutto were equally well received. The salads that followed were also above average. This place has so much history and they don’t even mention it! It’s crazy… I would have loved if they mentioned anything at all. The food was okay, nothing to rave about. It was a romatic setting, the sweet potato mash was really amazing. The stuffed chicken was so bland, it came with a horseradish mustard. If it didn’t I would not have enjoyed it. My husband said his steak didn’t have much flavor. We got this baked apple with Vermont cheese, don’t get it! It was not good and random. They don’t complement one another at all. I was given raved reviews about this place from several people. So it’s possible they didn’t have their main chef in that night. Not sure if I would come back
Spent an overnight in West Dover after finding this restaurant on line. Loved the menu so had dinner there. Good choice. Highly recommend making a reservation early. Luckily we were there on a Thursday as they are only open Thursday thru Sunday in September. Had the Mushroom soup app, a salad, my buddy chose the Bouillabaisse main and I had a sword fish special. All delicious. Enjoyed it with a great Cali Zin from their extensive wine list and it was all made special by the exceptional Trina, our delightful server.
We had a poor experience last weekend. The atmosphere was lovely but the food was not good at all.The pate appetizer tasted and looked like it came out of a package. The salmon appetizer was bland. The three entrees were poor. The duck was bland and poorly prepared. The lamb shank was ok but underwhelming. The strip steak was bland.An expensive meal that must have been an office night for the kitchen.

Had a wonderful meal at Two Tannery. The escargot was delicious! Perfectly smothered in garlic and butter! The swordfish special was excellent with a lime chili sauce. Our server, Trina, was friendly and attentive. We will be back!

Had a great meal last week with my parents. Been coming here for a long time. It's a go to place when you want an upscale meal in the Mount Snow area.
Service outstanding, country pate was exceptional. Steaks were ordered medium rare, but arrived medium well. Good wine
