The restaurant is in a hotel, which is in the basement with bare concrete walls and a few wooden beams placed just under the ceiling in an attempt to give it some atmosphere. It was very brightly lit. On one side hung a series of oil paintings of schools of small fish. Even these lovely paintings did not make up for the lack of ambience and character. We found the menus to be confusing, although both of us speak Spanish fluently and have lived in Spain for more than 13 years. Even with the waiter 's explanation of the menus we still ended up confused. We chose the tasting menu Tradición 35 € per person, which consisted of six different plates and we were obliged to choose the same tasting me...
¡Qué diferencia puede hacer cuando un restaurante es tranquilo! Cuando llegamos aquí, era bastante tranquilo. La habitación está decorada de forma arquitectónica y relajante, incluso con el concreto. Queríamos compartir nuestros dos platos de entrada de espárragos y alcachofas. Eso fue facilitado por cada plato siendo dividido por la mitad antes de ser servido individualmente. Un golpe magistral de un servicio excepcionalmente fino y la disposición de brindarnos una experiencia. Tuvimos platos principales separados. Mi esposa el cerdo, grande, y yo tuve el palomo, pequeño. Ambos fueron platos excelentes, pero debí comer el mío en pequeñas porciones. Yo tuve el curd y mi esposa las torrijas....
A fantastic experience. Hugely varied and enjoyable menu, built around a series of set menu options, starting at €24 or €28. We chose the eight course €35 menu and couldn 't have been happier. The opener of local tomatoes many ways was inspired, then the most delightful foie with truffle jelly and berry compote was brilliant. Cold cod with tomatoes was lovely, which led a phenomenal slow cooked egg with octopus and olive oil. Amasing! Next came warm cod cannelloni and then the local, succulent and gorgeous pork belly with yogurt. The desert of berries with sheep milk ice cream was a great finale. Tuve una sopa fría de tomate, ternera empanada con papas fritas, y vino y agua de buena calidad, además de postre. Todo por 19 euros. La comida era de buena calidad. Sin embargo, el postre de pastel de queso era extraño, más parecido a un pastel hecho de queso que a mi experiencia normal de pastel de queso. El servicio fue atento pero discreto. Los entrantes y platos principales fueron exquisitos: una ensalada de queso de cabra bellamente presentada, un risotto muy sabroso y un filete sobresaliente (¿quién sabía que la carne de vaca española podía ser tan buena?). Nos encantaría darle a este lugar un 5, pero sorprendentemente el postre no estuvo a la altura. Excelente relación calidad-precio por 19€ (incluye agua y vino).
