I used my own recyclable shopping bag to carry shop products in the store and emptied it fully in front of the cashier to pay. (Minimizing contact in pandemic environment). To my shock, the cashier still asked to check the inside of my bag. She wanted to ensure I was not trying get away without paying for more products, basically she was suspicious that I would steal. A loyal customer's for the last 6 years in Lausanne, this felt very insulting! Living in Switzerland for more than 10 years, this is the first time my bag have been checked (and for no real reason). On one side is the shop, on the street behind is the small restaurant offering daily fresh bento, short menu, and sushi. The food is consistently delicious, whether take-out or eat there. Upstairs a good selection of Japanese tableware, cookery supplies and other goodies. The restaurant only open restricted hours at lunch and unfortunately mainly serves on plastic disposable packaging despite it not being take-out. Lunch is very reasonably priced, fresh, and delicious, and foodshop items are priced comparably elsewhere.
