For a University Campus Pub, the University Arms is deceptively attractive. Carpeted, but lavish and comfortable; at least the downstairs is, with the upstairs resembling more of a disused dentist studio. One or two of the younger staff are even friendly, but unfortunately this is not reflected in the senior staff or management. Drink prices are fairly high for Sheffield, as are the food prices; the options are fairly bland with an obvious attempt to doll up what little they do have. The kitchen staff are very sneaky with their dishes: at first glance the portions seem to be quite large. This is until one actually starts eating them, however. One will soon find that what they do is to place...
A nice little pub great ales and nice food the Yorkshire pudding is great they have a wide variety of Ales and are more than willing to let you try before you buy , also if you ask for the kind of beer you like they can recommend the best one for you.Sometimes it gets a bit busy at the bar and takes a while to get a drink but the food always comes quickly. The only thing is it doesn't open Sundays which would be nice for a drink and a lunch after a walk around the local Park and attractions.
The staff are very friendly. However, they do not accept cash which makes me wonder if they are trying to condition students to partake in the digital surveillance economy. However, there is a stout man in glasses that very generously gave me a drink for free as I had forgotten that it did not accept cash. This was a lovely gesture of good will and I have not forgotten it. The food is quite nice. I don't like the crowds. However, I like this pub.
We were here for a large group meet up and booked the restaurant for lunch. Very good roast dinner and pudding. Sometimes it can be a bit of a worry when you order chicken, but it was perfectly cooked. The staff were friendly and the range of beers on offer was excellent. They coped well with the large party. Unfortunately the rain kept us out of the beer garden this time round.

A busy pub which nevertheless offered good spaces for groups. Good range of food including a vegan pie and I greatly enjoyed excellent fish and chips in a friendly atmosphere . Outside the city centre but accessible by tram which offers a quick ride to the station .
An interesting pub with a surprising amount of space (conservatory and garden) at the back. Some well chosen ales on offer. I couldn't rank it as one of the best pubs I've been to in Sheffield- it lacked a little atmosphere on my visit- but I'd definitely go back.
Called in for a ore-concert feed. We had a spicy chicken burger and a quiche both came with salad and chips. The chips were great, best chips I've had in a few years. Prices were very fair and the staff were really friendly and helpful.
Nice place next to my old university. Good tap selection. Free WiFi. Camra discount. Beer garden. Good ambiance. Friendly staff. I didn't eat here

It's good good pub food, good place for lunch or for a beer after work. A nice beer garden and an extra room upstairs that feels a bit lonely.
Fryer was down for so long so I couldn’t order fish and chips. Yet the place has a very appealing atmosphere and the service is pleasant too.
