Uno Gelato - Reserva de mesa

Got my iced latte from here just now Jun 25 3pm-ish, cup was mis-shapened on the bottom it wouldn't sit straight. I told the staff as soon as I got it and she just gave another cup to use op top. No effort to acknowledge anything, or question why the cup i was served was like that. After finishing the coffee and inspecting it (photos), I realized it's from the heat of the coffee used on plastic cup. Now I am questioning the release of BPA or other plastics that would be carcinogenic. Staff were neither attentive or apologetic in any way about this. I visited Uno Gelato in Kitsilano today and was greeted by a very friendly young woman with a lovely French accent. It was obvious that Uno Gelato had trained her well, as she enhanced my experience by patiently answering all of my questions (she was very knowledgeable about all of the gelato flavors), treating me with kindness, and offering me plenty of samples. The store was immaculate, and when I tasted the passionfruit sorbetto, it was like fireworks in my mouth. It was a truly fantastic experience that reminded me of my late-night walks in Venice... I will definitely be returning.

The minute my family and I entered the shop felt not welcome. no one said hi.We asked about the difference between sorbets and gelato, the girl shook her head and ignored the question. then I asked for a sample of earl grey, I was given one and there was no jar for used spoons. I put it down and the guy said, don 't do that We bought anyways and when I paid, none of the people behind the counter thanked me, but I thanked them. I did not tip, on purpose. the service was a disappointment and the flavours were ok. so was it worth it?! not at all. I 'm not returning to UNO.

Don’t go here for coffee. Ordered a decaf oat milk cappuccino and got served a caffeinated cappuccino and ended up being up for hours that night. Thought I’d give them another try and this time I was very careful to order clearly and double check my order with the barista. Got served a latte with cows milk. Didn’t notice till I was in my car. I’m lactose intolerant. Needless to say, I didn’t drink the coffee this time. Both times I was the only customer in the store so not sure why my order was wrong. Not going back. This restaurant serves the most delicious ice cream I have had in a while. As someone with celiac disease, I appreciate that they offer several gluten-free flavors and even gluten-free cones.

Yummy really nice gelato and all the good flavours. Not a huge selection but it’s big enough. We all loved our gelato and sorbettos good service too.
