What used to be purely Onyx Dessert Bar has morphed into the first Brazilian restaurant in Adelaide in years, but it's also special for being one of the best places in the city for vegetarian dining (the vegetarian chef ensures the right spread!) and for its bravery in attempting to be more than just a churrascaria. The menu is constantly changing, but spans the breadth and variety of Brazilian food, rooted in its vast land and diverse cultures. This place isn't done justice if you're only looking for a picanha rump steak. Why not sample Afro-Brazilian, Native Indian and other European influences which contribute to what Brazil, and Veesao, have created? To take just one example, the moqueca, a traditional fish and prawn stew, is as unique, tasty and filling as their vegetarian ravioli, which my partner billed the best she ever had. The Brazilian wines are surprisingly good especially when paired with the food, and need I mention the modern twist on the desserts? This place is a fantastic, but not necessarily cheap eat, and having been here 3 times, I cannot complain of anything much. It's a worthy addition to the renaissance in Adelaide's restaurant scene
