Food was tasty but expensive. For this amount of money I 'll go to Craig 's or Dan Tana 's or Wally 's. Place was almost empty which is very depressing. My wife asked if they could make her a 'strawberry margarita ', and they charged an 'extra ' 9 dollars for that. 9 dollars to chop up a strawberry. Not cool. And Valet parking was 10 dollars. 10 dollars for a place that is almost empty. 37 dollars for short ribs is not cheap. I know it costs more at some restaurants but there is usually more to it, more atmosphere, a more exciting bar, a more attractive surrounding. Diego Hernandez is one of the most important chefs in the Western Hemisphere. After the opening of Corazón de Tierra in Baja California, Verlaine marks his first restaurant in the United States. The food is organic and sourced locally. The fried beans were beautifully complemented by homemade flour tortillas. The half chicken was perfectly cooked, and the cactus salad and ceviche we ordered were outstanding. We tried the Old Fashioned (made with brandy), which was a delicious cocktail. However, on the night we visited, it was raining, and we were seated in the front room where a birthday party was taking place, making it quite loud. We're looking forward to returning and sitting on the back...

I brought a friend here who visited Britain because I had so many great experiences in the studio city location. this location is very poor and floor plan is very cut in inside, so there is very little ambiente. but these are the least problems. we are here at 17.30 to learn that they were from the suppe! really? before the dinner really started? our server was buried and very delinquent at the arrival to stop to check with us and they were from another article we wanted on the menu also so that we really fed up and very unhappy with the entire experience. hopefully, their experience will be better!

a member of our party that arrived early, we saw each other. waiting for one and a series of texts we learned that our friend sat elsewhere. After we had set ourselves, we were informed that we were sitting in a territory that was going through the day before so that we were all to flounce on the bank. “No other table available” though that was hard to believe. tomatensuppe and santa barbara sandwich were ok. You're sweating, right? I came to the restaurant in time for my reservation, and the valet of the place next door tells me that verlaine is closed, permanently. Even if a restaurant goes out of business, I would expect a call to advise me and suggest a reservation elsewhere. it's no wonder they had to fold. this is most likely a direct reflection on how they run their restaurant when it was open!

Verlaine has a cool vibe and great food. This is Mexican food with a unique perspective. Delicious, interesting sauces. Unique takes on dishes that you might not otherwise consider. I recommend the black beans, with the cheese and spices they add that make it really delicious.

We had an amazing time! The food was excellent, especially the pork chop—it was thick, juicy, tender, and full of flavor! The service was outstanding as well. We'll definitely be back in no time!
