Although we may not be the typical guests, we were truly impressed with our stay. This was a midway stop on our summer road trip, and we just needed a place to rest for the night. The room was amazing! It was spacious, clean, and offered plenty of amenities. The staff at the front desk were friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. I was traveling with my daughter, and she absolutely enjoyed her stay at this hotel. The beds were very comfortable, although I would mention that there was only a double top sheet provided—no blanket or comforter—so if you're someone who gets cold easily, you might want to bring your own. We visited Vernon Downs Casino for the first time since Covid while visiting the area. What a disappointment! I have tried a lot of casinos over the years, this one was by far the worst one from the Bahamas to New York. The rumor was that you had slightly better odds because it’s state run, but that was far from true in our case. Turning Stone had MUCH better slot play and 10x more machines. We played each day for several hours at turning stone but couldn’t even last a full hour at Vernon Downs. If you decide to try your luck in Oneida or Verona, visit Turning Stone first before you waste you money at Vernon Downs.
The casino has fewer machines and tables compared to Turning Stone, but it’s still a great place to unwind, enjoy a girls' night out, or even go on a date with your partner. It also features a race track for those who enjoy betting on horses. Additionally, there's a hotel connected to the casino. The last time I stayed, I found the rooms to be a bit outdated, but the rates were quite reasonable—even for a jacuzzi suite, the price difference from a standard room was only about fifty dollars.
Visited the casino and track. Nice variety of slots and good band playing the night I was there. Sorry to see the track doesn't get the business of generations past. Track facilities could use a facelift but it's probably not fiscally wise. Actual track in great shape. We had good weather and a good time. Good idea to bring a camping chair of sorts-picnic tables and folding chairs aren't all that comfortable.

The rooms are modern and stunning, with a lovely rustic ambiance. The hallways have been refreshed as well, giving them a clean and inviting appearance. Our room was spotless and cozy. We've stayed here several times, and it has consistently been comfortable, clean, and peaceful.
This was a convenient stop for us. We were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the room. The only place to eat late at night at 8:40 was a snack bar located in the casino. The locals here are very friendly. Overall, I would rate the rooms a solid 5 out of 5.
During my stay in Vernon Downs while helping my son settle into college at Morrisville State, I found this hotel to be perfect. It had a pool for the kids and a casino for me! I will definitely make this my go-to place whenever I visit my son. Rooms: 5/5
We went to the buffet and it was horrible. The Prime Rib was over cooked and very fatty. Chicken was good for 4 bites( very small pieces). The staff was very friendly. We did enjoy watching the horses.Service: 5/5

I attended a one-day seminar here and found the food and drinks to be excellent and fresh. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Overall, I would rate the service as 4 out of 5.
Came out on 7/27 to see Three Dog Night in concert. I have never stayed here over night.Rooms: 5/5
