The 3-course menu 29 proved to be disappointment for nearly 30 euros. Here with pictures: vesttafel.de/menue29-ves... The appetizer, a sweet potato soup. From taste much too bright, and so powerful that the stomach after soup was already well filled. Good luck! Because the main dish, a mini part of the duck breast, medium and hard, hardly taste, a little rake pure and herbal side vegetables for it tastefully all the brighter, left a lasting bad impression in the mouth and not the stomach appreciable. The dessert, poor knight of Christstollen, on the picture very beautiful looking, in practice made exactly the impression: Soft Christmas slices with infinite glazing fried dust dry, and bad in...
Here we have spent an absolutely beautiful, romantic, quiet evening! The coats were taken by us, we were led to the (maintained place and well advised and served there by the very attentive waiter. He was tactical and also made one or other humorous comment: The dishes were delicious! Who likes to live the label here. If not, no problem! Everyone can feel comfortable here. A kind of chic, so dress code, belongs here. In no case stiff, but quite casual to come here, I don't think appropriate. I'm sure you don't see who does it. The ambience is remarkably modern, stylish and simply chic! Conclusion: Schade, I can no longer live in the Ruhrpott and eat here more often! A great restaurant!
Loved it! Will return! Great concept for this place so I hope the team at Vesttafel can keep it up!The change at Vesttafel really made a very noticeable change. I grew up in Recklinghausen, live in the US and return every now and then. Typically I ignored the Vesttafel - but now it will be part of my "coming home" visits. We (party of 4) had dinner under the stars next to the very nice Engel fountain - very special atmosphere! They have themed menus every week, and it was a hit. The Schnitzel as well. One of the best things was the (free) amuse-Bouche, the carrot-ginger soup. Fantastic! Excellent and attentive service - well done!!As I said - we will be back!
The restaurant is new in a part of the Engelsburg there was a restaurant before. The complex has become very modern, a historical house with very modern interiors and light players. The audience was very mixed and we were lucky to get another table. The service immediately asked us a table and was very friendly and attentive. The menu is not huge, but it should not mean that the selection is too small: On the contrary, of flame cake, fish, meat and vegetarian should everyone find something. We opted for flame cake and zanderfilet: It was all very nicely dressed and very tasty the kitchen was very creative. Conclusion: It is recommended to dinate there. Reserva una mesa ahora
We stayed at the Best Western Parkhotel Engelsburg, the hotel connected to this restaurant. While we weren't going to eat here because it seemed the less adventurous choice, on our second night we did. We were meeting a local for dinner, and he suggested it. The food was excellent and artistically presented. As a vegetarian, I was impressed that the menu had three delicious vegetarian (one of them vegan) options. My companions had meat dishes, and our local friend commented several times on his food quality. The restaurant might be a bit pricey for a budget traveler, but it was a lovely option for us!
In Reck to support the local pro basketball team -- CityBasket Recklinghausen. Covered all the restaurants in town -- this one was definitely up there!... (along with the Italian restaurant next door)... Nice dinner after game -- accommodated larger group and stayed open late for us. Great service. Great food. On pricey side for us, but...worth the splurge. I had the duck -- which was fabulous. Chef does nice job of blending flavors and creating interesting/satisfying combinations.We'll be back -- Go Citybasket!
This is the restaurant of the Hotel Engelsburg and the dining room is the same room in which breakfast is served. The quality of the food and restaurant did not seem to justify the price point here. There is a always a fresh menu however and for fine dining there are not many other choices in Recklinghausen. There is outside seating in the hotel courtyard in nice weather but cars may be coming in and out since this is also the main entrance of the hotel.
I was in The Hotel Best Western and it seems to be very easy to eat there bug our German friends said us that The restaurant was special!The food is really fine and as a Brazilian and a fit person I loved the flavor.Very tender and nice?Congratulations to The chef! Reserva una mesa ahora
