"All the food was amazing. We started with the Pao de Quiejo. Great bread. We had the Picanha Fatiada and the Bife Baiana. They were both excellent. The Yucca is very good and the rice and beans are the best. Perfect for date night"

We got tickets to a Broadway show so we needed a dinner place nearby. We don't have Brazilian food too ofter, so we thought why not? We made a resso for a Wednesday at 6:15. It was pretty empty. From the outside looking in, it does look like a tourist trap, especially because of its proximity to Times Square. But they had good reviews, and the menu looked good and was reasonably priced, especially for that area. We ordered: Assorted Brazilian Hors d'ouevres this was an assortment of 6 different empanadas/croquettes with various meat/cheese/rice filling. Some were good but there were a few I didn't like. I don't even know what was what because nothing was explained to us. But its a fun dish t...

Located in the heart of Little Brazil, I dined here with a friend for dinner. The interior is lovely, vibrant, colorful with a welcoming atmosphere. There were white table cloths and pretty pink flowers on the table, giving the place an elegant touch. Of course we had to get the cheese bread, which was excellent. Sticky, strong cheesy flavor, still warm, and perfect little tasty morsels! For my entree, I ordered the Grande sampler meat platter, which included strip steak, Brazilian sausage, pork chop, as well as chicken. This was served with rice and beans, along with yucca flour and pico de gallo. I think my favorite was the steak, which was nice and tender, as well as packed with flavor. T...

On a freezing Saturday, at 6pm, we walked in without reservations. Many tables were available, and the manager welcomed us with warm and enthusiastic greeting, which was appreciated. Staff niceties ended right there. Service was the worst part of our experience. Waitstaff were extremely understaffed. We waited half an hour for anyone to approach our table. After almost dying of dehydration, I tried to catch a passing staff member, but that proved quite a feat--everyone was so busy, that they were flying at the speed of light and our table of two seemed invisible. Very frustrating. Especially when you just want a glass of water after waiting for who knows how long. Took over 45 minutes to fin...

A hidden Jewel in the heart of NYC , they have authentic Brazilian beer and a great menu , Wellington our waiter was absolutely the best , very attentive and helpful . The atmosphere of the place is nice and cozy . We had the Bacalhau a Gomes de Sa , and it was amazing !! That's coming from a native Brazilian . I took home the Bife a portuguesa and even tho I asked for well done it was a bit tooo well done , kind of burned on the edges so that was a little disappointing. Over all it was a great experience and I want to go back and try the other dishes on the menu to see if they are as authentic as the ones I tried . P.S: The Caipirinhas where PERFECT !!!!! Had lunch at Via Brasil in Manhattan today after a wonderful workshop Star Mothers Earth Ancestors: A Channeling Event for Starseeds with Marissa JJ Brighton. The restaurant was beautifully rustic inside with a piano for live music tasteful pictures throughout. We had the special which was oxtails polenta the rio grande churrascos mixed meat grill. The Pao de Queijo A Brazilian delight cheese bread was delicious the Mariscos Ao Molho de Vinho which is Sauteed mussels w/ garlic, white wine and tomato sauce. The waiters were all great very attentive. Love this little piece of Brazil on west 46th street.

Came here for lunch before a broadway show and I got the gaucho churrascos cooked medium. It was a little closer to medium well when it came out but it tasted pretty good. The salt ratios I found were also a little odd. The black beans were too salty and the fries didn't taste salted at all. My uncle got the bacalhou cozido and it was definitely very garlicky and tasted just a tad over cooked. Overall it wasn't bad but I wouldn't rush to come back.

Needed a quick, nice dinner before theater, and Via Brasil excelled. All of our food was tasty, well-prepared, with a lot of authentic Brazilian touches, spices, combinations. There are several caipirinhas on the drink menu, but the baseline one was excellent. Service was attentive and professional, and they definitely worked to get us out in time to get to our show. Would not only go back, would make an effort to visit any time we are town.

I don't leave many reviews, but this was the best meal I've had in a long time, so I figured I should let others know about this gem of a restaurant! Charming atmosphere, great service and awesome food. We had the mix appetizers platter, the fried bananas, heart of palm strogonoff and garlic picanha strips. Everything was fantastic and true Brazilian flavors. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in New York City. Reserva una mesa ahora

Yum!!! Great service! Very nice atmosphere! Nice people! On sunday, they do not have live performances, so we had some pretty quiet background music playing. For my drink, I decided to try their Brazilian Soda . Yum! For dinner, I ordered their yummy garlic shrimp. Delicious! If you are in NYC and want to go to a fancy seafood restaurant on the cheaper side, VIA Brasil is for you!!!
