We stumbled across this bar not on the greatest of circumstances. We had to attend the Old Bailey to see justice served to an individual who randomly killed a close friend of ours in an unprovoked attack. We had to make a few journeys to the court room and with all the emotion we needed to have a few drinks after. We came across this bar and my initial thoughts was that it’s a shoebox. How can we enjoy a drink in here. How wrong I was! We first went to the bar in September and we came across a girl behind the bar who said if we ever needed to reserve a table just to let them know. The case ended up being adjourned for a month and in October we came back again for 2 days and we didn’t reserve...

Wandering round London is one of the best ways to see the city and take in the sites up close and personal. This does make for thirsty and tiring work so it's good to find a place to get some refreshments and also to have a break before you once again hit the streets. The Viaduct Tavern is close to Holborn Viaduct (hence the name) and is a beautiful old pub. The nearest station is probably City Thameslink served by trains to Blackfriars and St Pancras and destinations beyond. There are also plenty of buses passing by. I received a friendly greeting and found a seat next to a plug socket so I could charge my phone as well as my body.

Went to this pub as had read that there are old Victorian cells under the pub. Spoke to Jack, the bartender, and asked him about the cells. Jack told took us to see the cells and gave us a brilliant history lesson and a tour of the cells. His knowledge and passion was evident and really informative. He was great. We love Victorian history and this didn’t fail to deliver. A little known secret with a wonderful team member who was more than happy to share his knowledge. The pub itself was great with a good friendly atmosphere. A visit will not disappoint- enjoy

I visited the pub last night for some after work drinks with my colleagues. There was a fantastic selection of gin and some house made fusions. The chocolate orange one was amazing. They didn't have a big selection of food but the toasties they served were delicious. Above all the staff was very nice. Liam was an absolute star! He gave us a tour to the haunted cells of the pub which we enjoyed tremendously. The tavern is lovely little gem. I will definitely keep going back! Reserva una mesa ahora

This pub is conveniently located for visits to the Old Bailey or a stroll around Smithfield Market. While it may be small inside and only serves toasted sandwiches, the staff is exceptionally friendly and the decor is worth a stop for a drink and snack. Be sure to ask the staff about the 'bullet holes' in one of the paintings and the historical cells on site.

Very friendly staff in historic pub make sure you check out the original ceiling and the bullet hole! If you ask nicely, the bar staff will show you a couple of original Newgate prison cells. It is meant to be the most haunted pub in London ….

This charming pub is located near the Old Bailey. The staff are friendly and attentive, and they have a great selection of gin. The prices are very reasonable compared to other places in London.
