After reading some positive reviews about this restaurant, we decided to stop for lunch after a long drive. The restaurant, now named Vermako Family Restaurant, had friendly and fast service. However, the food was disappointing. I have eaten at many small town eateries in my life, but the corndog my son ordered had raw dough and my salad had chicken bones in it. The roast beef was very fatty and the salad had a lot of tough core pieces. My husband's clubhouse sandwich looked appealing, but was dry and lacked flavor. Overall, the meal was unsatisfactory and not worth the price.
This is a fantastic spot for tasty food and excellent service. Grenfell may not be very large, and from what I can tell, this diner is the only one in the city. There are also two Chinese restaurants and a coffee house in the area. As a pierogi enthusiast, I had to give it a try. The bowl was so flavorful and filled with gravy, it seemed like it was from a family recipe, but even better. I will definitely be coming back. The service is quick and friendly, and the prices are reasonable for the level of service provided.
I frequently visit this restaurant on my drive from Winnipeg to Regina. I have had meals here from breakfast to dinner and have tried many items on the menu, including the pizza. I have never been disappointed with any of the dishes. Thank you to Vicki and the staff for always providing great food and service.
