We visited The Victoria to celebrate a birthday. After waiting 5 minutes for a staff member to seat us, we all decided to order the barramundi. However, when we went to order, we were informed that it was unavailable. We were disappointed that this information was not shared with us earlier. The drinks came out quickly, but the service at the counter was slow. The meals were a mixed bag - my schnitzel was hot and delicious, while the salmon linguine was lukewarm and the ale battered fish and chips was satisfactory. None of the staff checked in on us during the meal. It seems that management should consider providing better training for the young staff members.
Quite busy tonight even though it was only 5.30. We chose something different on this visit. My husband had the eye fillet with chips, salad and red wine jus served medium. He would like to have had peas or mushrooms with the meal but this...is not on the menu. The steak was very nice. I had the rump with mash, broccolini, green beans red wine jus and hot English mustard. My steak was cooked medium and although thin was cooked to my liking. The mash was nice but my one green bean was of the frozen variety. I got only one! The broccolini was over crunchy and cold. The mustard was Dijon. The meal was slightly disappointing. Service was really good and friendly.
Been over a year since we last came in for a meal overall noticeable changes, have been made the greeting was pleasant enough, seated checking the menu, not a great selection your usual basic cuts in the lower gram range 200/300g the...side options should have been more choice no peas, carrots, mushrooms we had the 3oo g scotch fillet with the prawn option which we would say was the only saving grace with our meals, we ordered well-done steaks more medium /rare we got!! price over rate we opt to eat run having waited on not an overly busy night price over rated, disappointing ? won;t be coming back anytime soon
we wanted to book a table last night for dinner. because I have an impediment and needed a certain consideration, the staff was not ready to be so flexible. rude behavior, horrific service! we went elsewhere. the vic lost the business because of the employees who were not willing to do more than the absolute minimum, and were very rude about it. we will not be back soon, nor will we recommend the place. as we are here, are the bad news for the victoria hotel. We returned for a light bite. We chose the fish, battered with chips and salad. Plus onion rings. We both had huge fillets, nicely cooked. The chips were the obligatory frozen but the salad didn’t really go with the dish, garden peas would of been...far nicer. Fish was great though. The onion rings were very greasy. Not good won’t be picking them again.
Although the ribs were delicious and tender, my husband's steak was overcooked and tough. It seemed like the chef may have been displeased with our complaint. Overall, the food was a mix of good and disappointing elements, and there was confusion regarding the extra charge for keeping a side that normally comes with the dish.
booked and early dinner on nye. we love the view and the atmosphere, together with good food makes for a pleasant time. eating as always was great my man and friend really enjoyed their meal. the staff was amazing and the meals came. very fast out. many thanks for a great meal.
Tried to order a beer told keg is tapped out and not going to retro keg blonde girl that took our order was rude and when I finally got my meal mixed grill skewers were tougher than a farmers boot everyone’s meal except for one...was average would not go back if you paid me Reserva una mesa ahora
I recently hosted a small family gathering for a 60th birthday celebration at this restaurant. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and the drinks were also good. There was nothing to complain about. I highly recommend dining here!
