Me and the wife had afternoon tea here today. We were treated by our daughters with a voucher for Christmas. Wasnt too busy and we had a table for 2 all set up for us. It was a lovely tea with pots of tea on tap, lovely apple juice also. A nice selection of sandwiches, a lovely large scone each with heaps of jam and cream. 5 large portions of gateau, each differant. A very nice tea, i personally would like a bit more salad and some crisps even if it meant losing a portion of gateau. We had foil to take most of the gateaus home with us. Would recommend this to one and all
As good as ever, the restaurant is not as crowded as it used to be before Covid, but the high standards of quality, cleanliness, and friendly service from Sarah and her team remain unchanged. Unfortunately, the restaurant is only open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at the moment. Unlike other restaurants that have had to cut down their menu options, this one has kept its full range of choices. Please consider supporting this long-standing local business. It would be a great loss if it were to close down.
Could really not recommend this place highly enough, took my mum here for brunch in between other appointments, i did not book. For the owner nothing is to much trouble and I just happened to mention it was part of mum's birthday treat, so she gave my mum cake and wish her a happy birthday on the house. Who does that these days, over and above expectations a really nice lady. We will go back. Lovely varied menu, value for money and the owner is just a special lady, thank you so much a lovely time.
This morning, my 10-year-old son and his friend met at the tearoom for a weekend treat. His friend had beans on toast and a coke, while my son had a Biscoff muffin and a mint milkshake. My son thought the food was delicious, the service was excellent, and even though they were both on their phones a lot, the owner Sarah was really nice. This is the only tea rooms we've visited that consistently gets a 5 star rating. Delightfully quirky, this vintage tea room lives up to its charming ambience with an amazing array of afternoon teas, brunches, lunches with cakes, scones and sandwiches all home made and beautifully presented. The food is delicious, the cakes and scones are amazing, the customer service homely and cheerful with very realistic pricing Highly recommended, we love it!
If you want to step back in time to when tea was served in bone china cups and saucers from quaint mis-matching teapots, then this is the place for you! The portions are very generous and the cakes and gateaux look like something out of a picture book. There has been a lot of care and attention in putting together the decor- vintage ornaments and crockery is everywhere, including in the flowerbeds!
Been here many times over the years and visited Friday 21st August 2020 for Lunch being our first time since lockdown began. Had to wait about 10minutes for a table but was no problem. Great menu as always. I had the pie and the wife had quiche. The food was as always lovely and at a good price. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Will be back
